KB 2.1 and Heat Exchanger Question

Currently, I'm saving for the KB 2.1L intercooled kit for the Stang. I have a question about the heat exchanger that is included in the kit vs any other option. I will be running the blower on the car and have it tuned for about 390hp rwhp since it will be on the stock shortblock. In an attempt to have the motor last for the longest amount of time possible and it to be safest, could I pick up a LFP dual pass heat exchanger and install that instead of the stock KB one? I don't know if it would make a big difference in the IAT's. I figure anything I can do to have the motor last longer would be great. I also didn't know if it would fit behind the stock GT bumper or if I would need to get a larger capacity reservoir than the KB one in the kit in order to run the LFP heat exchanger. Any help would be great! :nice: I just didn't know if the LFP heat exchanger would be a worthwhile addition. Thanks.

I installed a LFP H/E about 6 months ago and definitely love it. You dont need it for 390 rwhp , but it is a benefit at any hp level. Almost 3 times the size and holding capacity.

I highly reccomend it.
:nice:

did you guy's notice a change in ait's? and if so how much?. I am thinking of adding a bigger h/e and resevior and wanted to know how much I would gain

Not sure about the IATs as my tuner monitored those during tuning. I dont monitor them on the street, but getting a gauge would be nice.

I went LFP H/E and decided to do a Vortech reservoir (battery relocation required)
The Vortech holds almost a gallon by itself.

The small KB reservoir is about the size of a good pis cup at the doctors.
