17 inch tire sizes for foxbody?

First off, thumbs up to doing the swap!

Below is a pic of my setup, you will need to make sure you use 94/95 spindles up front, on the rear if you plan run 10.5 inch wide wheels you MUST keep the stock fox trackwidth. My car has a SN95 disc rear under it but I had to use some ranger axles and the North Racecar brackets. Also on the rear you WILL have to roll the fender lips, no getting around it, I tried and mine rubbed bad! I also had to add some steering rack limiters to the front.

255/40 on the front and 285/40 on the rear, FMS B springs.

Nope, they are gonna stick out. If you are lowered at all you will hit the tires on the fenders.

You need to modify the SN95 brake setup with the north race cars brackets and Fox lenght axles and roll your fenderlips to get a 10.5" rim under there.

I think a 275 or 285 will be the max you can go as well.

Up front, i'd toss a 255 on

goodluck with the 10.5's. i'm in the process of doing the 5 lug sn95 stuff as we speak. i don't know why people want 10.5's on the back, the biggest tire you can fit without mods is a 275's and they fit perfect on the 17x9's.

sn95's can run up to 315's though

No, i was just gonna use the 10.5 wide rims for now to save on some cash for the time being. I don't really care for the rims but they'd get me by until I can afford what I want. I'd like to put 03 cobra wheels on it. Will they fit fine with sn95 axles?

i have 17x9 03/04 cobra wheels on my 88 fox with 255s in front and 315s in back. they fit, but front tires will rub lock to lock and rear tires will rub if you dont roll the fender. also to fit the 315s you need to lose the quad shock and hammer in certain sections of the fender well. but ive run mine like that for a while without any rubbing after i rolled the fenders in the back.

with 10.5s in the back, you will most likely need to lose the quad shock and hammer in the fender wells if your thinking about putting a decent sized tire on it.

What did you use for your five lug conversion? I'm gonna use full length sn95 axles because the rear I bought came with 31 spline mosers and its a 97 front end so it'll be a little wider there also. What does your front rub on? Thanks!!

i have 94-95 sn95 spindles in the front and fox length axles in the back. those
sn95 axles you have will probably be way too much for the 10.5 in rim. they will stick out a decent amount. mine are almost completely flush with the fender.

as far as rubbing in the front, im not sure what its rubbing on. i know the inner lip on the wheel is all chewed up. i thought it was the lower control arm, but i cant find a spot where it is worn or scratched.

Check the little Tab thats welded onto the backside of the control arms. Nothing happens to it, because its strong steel. Your wheel however is an aluminum alloy. Wheels lose the battle!
