I just got the JLT Performance CAI about 2 weeks ago and I am pretty please with it. I put off buying an intake for so long thinking it was a waste of money but u can feel the difference..the best way to describe it is it fills in any lag and its just a smooth pull through the rpms...PLUS the JLT looks really nice

Your not talking about the same thing. A cold air intake is the tube that leads to the throttle body... An intake with the OP's mods is a waste of money and likely will hurt low end torque. The factory pi intake is very effcient in n/a appications. His money is better spent else where. Whether is be suspension or more bolts on's. Judging by his post... he has pretty much full bolt ons at this point and needs to focus attention to getting the power down before wasting money on things that will likely not help.

don't waste your time and money on an aftermarket intake

just my .02

Hmm, some after market CAI, gives you more room so you can have a larger filter, plus the stock one has a couple of bends that you can do without, while adding larger TB, an Upper plenum, spacers on both top and bottom, typhoon intake manifold, but for some reason,:bs: I think you know this already!!!:nonono:

Go back and read the thread. The original poster ALREADY HAS THE CAI, PLENUM AND T/B COMBO'S. He is looking for a LOWER intake to complement the other stuff.

The problem is that with his mods, the aftermarket short runner intakes will KILL his power w/o a blower or n2o.

what does that even mean?

Personally, I will be putting a PI intake on my '98. If I ever did get an aftermarket intake, it would have a blower feeding it.

yea im looking at a bottom intake well what else could i do i want more power see i was goin for the intake with 30lb injectors then some juice with lt headers...

Why would you want to do 30# injectors? Swapping to a bigger set will not net you any more power, in fact, it will likely rob power and make it a ****** to tune.

Your wasting your money with either of those mods unless you buy them and set them aside while you save for a blower. They simply are not useful on a bolt on n/a car.

What you need to do since you have full bolt on's is: Save for tires and suspension, there is no point in making ANY more power until you can transfer it to the ground.... Spinning ain't winning.. :D

Or you can save up for a blower and start purchasing these supporting parts so you can one hell of a fast car... But guess what, you still won't be able to get it to the ground unless you help out the suspension and tires.

Its your money, spend it as you wish. Just don't come moaning around here when your pro products lower and 30# injectors slows you down.....

EDIT: if running juice, run a wet shot so there is no need for bigger injectors. Long tubes are a good choice if your going Forced induction soon but they are insanely hard to install and not worth it on an n/a (even n2o car). Just my .02 take it as you will.

I personally would lean towards the P-51 intake or the Trickflow one? Know ther on the pricey side roughly $600-$800 for them but for NA setup with what you have added already. These will net the most performance. Some of the shorter runner intakes (Edelbrock,Reichard?? might have spelled that wrong??) are for a power adder setup(turbo,supercharger...) An to the members that say they will make you lose power:nono: an whats makes a motor run  FUELanAIR:jaw:
I added 30lb injectors an runs just as strong as before:shrug: plus awsome sound when you down shift wants to pop off in the exhaust

get some cams and l/t headers. **** a supply manifold.

you have an 03 so you dont need to worry about the plastic crossover issue. theres no point in changing it at this stage of the game. you would be much more pleased with cams and headers

30lb injectors on a stock 99-04 with 19lb injectors doesnt do a damn bit of difference. even with his mods, it would be a waste of money for him. until you reach about ~315hp to the wheels you are fine with the 19lb injectors

or is it a  STOCK mustang sure sounds like he has added a few things to his? An I gained 15hp on the topend because my injectors are not pushing 100% duty cycle. Now I do have to run premium gas so little pricy but any supercharger you would almost have to do the same?

Please no one listen to this guy.... 30# injectors on a bolt on pi gt is A WASTE OF MONEY. Not to mention is has to be running rich as hell.....

OP. Spend the money on what you want. Take the warnings as you will and do as you wish.
