Project "Face Off": 1980 Mercury Capri aero to four eye Progress Thread!

Poor Bill. :(

Want me to start banning people who keep asking that question?
Yes please :nice:

Ryan, my father stole the car Friday and lied to me all weekend. Monday he admited he stole it and sold it for $12,000.

If you want more info then search around here.

Double A Ron, I had a thread but I took it down cause it was turning into a bash fest by some people realy quickly. Thats why I only have it in ..... that .... other place.
Sorry Lynn, didnt mean to derail.

inspiration???

since you all like pics and they have none ill post some of what these guys are undoing, lol! BTW i have been lurking on this thread and enjoy the posts and updates quite a bit, I got nothing against what you guys (and girl) are doing, i just like the aero stangs but think the fender flares look BADASS, this is how ford shoulda made em (but then mine would be like every other 87+ stang out there).

YAY FOR PICTURE WHORING.... now lets see some updates on what a Capri "should" look like.

P.S. the side trim has been fixed and updated to the matte black, as well as 87+ style matte black dew wipes/covers/mirrors installed. If you want more pics just ask.

good luck with your progress
Victor

wellllll i did not "hack" up my car, i envisioned what a perfect stang in my eyes looked like and got it. Its not like Capri's are super rare or something like a 69 boss, or some sweet old school muscle car, this body has 300,000+ kms on it, was an ex 4cyl, was in very sorry condition and in most peoples opinion was ready for the junker... now look at her a real hack job she is, would have been much nicer and original in the junker, too bad i like to destroy dime a dozen fox bodies, thanks for noticing, so kind of ya.

Its a forum, i dont see how you own this thread as its not locked and only moderators can post in it, so i basically posted my opinion (which wasn't negative at all towards you) and well wishes on an open forum post, in return you call my baby a "hack job"...

Im done here, sorry my car offended you, good luck with "unhacking" that car (i hope you manage to get all the bumpers lined up better and un wave that rear bumper and get a capri sail panels and an RS air dam, and nicer rims).

P.S. my father had a 79 Turbo RS Capri that he bought at the dealership, i have nothing against Capris (unless they dont have an RS front end) but i dont see why you have such a hate for the aero? must be the ex or something.

Dude, I've suffered far more abuse over my car being hacked that I just gave you.

I have absolutely NO HATE for aeros noses. They just belong on Aero Stangs, NOT Capris.

Nice petty insults, too. Funny, our rims look alot alike.

I own a 82 Capri that I too bought from the dealership when she was a only 3 weeks old. She is a true RS but doesnt have the spoiler. The spoiler was only on 83 to 86 Capri's and if you had the dealer add one it was a fiberglass one not urathane like the factory ones.

This post was a progress post on the restoration of a Capri. And just another note, Capri's were rare to begin with. In the 7 year run of the cars there were far many more Mustangs built and sold then the old Merc. In todays market Capri's are being crushed at a far greater rate than Mustangs of the same era. Also lets remember the 69 Boss Mustang was a limited production run to begin with. Ford did this to get the 302 Boss in to Trans Am racing or at the time known as Can Am racing.... The Capri was a regular production car.
