I purchased a 1998 Mustang Gt in 2004 and i have asked around to alot of people and have been told different things about this car. The car is a black GT with a checkered flag painted on the sides (NOT a sticker) under the clearcoat, I asked around on this site and was told that the car may have been a dealer limited edition for sale purposes but every time i goto car shows i keep getting asked if the car is a pace car. I have no idea and i can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone so i am hoping that someone here has some sort of connection that can help me out. i have posted a pic of the car to give you a look to see what you think.i am tired of people saying that i had the car painted and i keep getting demerits at car shows as i enter it as stock and they say its custom.. i am at my wits end :shrug:now and no longer want to take it to car shows anymore as i cannot compete with a modified class of mustang as i don't spend a lot of money modifying it like some people.
its a 4.6l,3.27 rear-end,5 speed, flow master cat back exhaust and a diablosport predator tune,no other mods but a pile of waxing

FYI, i like the painted flag.

Entering your car in a show is deathly boring, IMO....never do that again...
Car shows are fun to go to walk around check out the nice cars then leave.

That new green stang with the lambo doors is hideous!!

i got in touch with the original owners son at a car show as he saw it pull in and told me that the car was purchased by his mother who worked at the dealer as a sales rep and the story he told me was that his mother bought it because it was a limited edition mustang and that yes it was a trade in she only put 75000km or 46602 miles on it in the time she owned it and that she was getting too old to drive a stick. i have been trying to find any info i can but i hear the woman is really sick and i don't think i can ask her about it. i can't see someone re-painting the car new and adding the paint job like that seems to me it would just be a real hassle. i am looking at getting the car re-painted next year but the shops here charge a fortune for painting black cars. oh well i will try and get some info from the paintshop and see what they say.

the green mustang with the lambo door kit is part of a pair a husband and wife that organized the show own. the cars apparently have like 450hp each.

i am aware of that but in canada we do things a little different i guess to make sales like i bought a 92 mustang lx 4cyl. auto that had the gt handling package (i know that for a fact cause i drove it off the show room floor) just because it didn't leave the assembly plant that way doesn't mean it didn't stop somewhere and have the graphics put on for the dealership to draw attention and customers. it could have been a bad year for the dealership and to get customers in they may have modified a few cars like another car i saw was a 2006 rousch ford focus never heard of it but it was a number car and had documentation

i am not sure what you are talking about i told you everything i know about the car and unclear of the story you are referring to any how i have the car booked into a paintshop to see if the graphics were added before or after the car was shipped the guy says he can tell. i can't the car is totally smooth and i think i am going to let this go now.

Even if it was a "special edition" of some sort half the Mustangs ever sold are some kind of special edition... Most "special editions" are not so special when it comes to price.
