Blowing Gaskets

I have just blown yet another gasket due to excessive coolant pressure. This time it was the intake. Last time it was the water pump gasket itself. It goes when I buzz the engine over 6000 rpm.

Has anyone had in problems like this?

I figure it's that the pump isn't made to flow coolant at such high rpms. It's just a stock replacement pump.

The easy fix is an electric pump...But If I don't have to spend the extra cash I don't want to go that route.

I was also wondering about an underdrive water pump pulley to drop the rpms. Will this help? Will I have low rpm cooling issues with this?

i thought i was the only one. if i take my car over 5k rpms, i usually blow through back plate gaskets on the water pump. i smear rtv on the gaskets too. happened on stock ford pump and napa.
