Looking for some advice

I have a 1989 Ford Mustang 5.0 SSP.

Its got alot of new under the hood. They previous owner had a supercharger on it However i have removed it and Am looking for some small advice involving the ECU.

Apparently the ECU was never properly setup.
Besides that I have to replace the 42lbs injectors with a much more suitable size*i chose 26lbs* I was wondering if anyone had some advice to how I should go about getting the ECU and other details tuned in to run right.

Car currently is pushing 330 to the rear wheels. I am guessing that with it tuned right that should go way up. Looking for some vets here no google responses please.

Thanks. :nice:

whats the rest of the combo, did it make 330 with or without the blower?

Its a CoBra R Block with a e303 cam 75mm TB Port and Polished Stock plenum, Edelbrock heads, BBK headers, K&N air intake [i think...] And 42 lbs injectors. Also Superflow exhaust with larger rockers or something i cant remember everything Car is relatively new to me.

330 without the blower.

Mind Im on a t5 trans NOT bulletproof.

ALso I want to tune the car with 26lbs injectors in it. I have the injectors Im shelfing the 42's until i get my super. Procharger ftw.

If that helps.

you dont need to do anything with the ecu. put the 24 pound injectors and matching maf on and remove the chip. You do not need a tune unless your looking to blow money away. set your how are you pushing 330 rwhp with a non stroked 302, a E cam and edelbrock heads? and your thinking your gonna get a ton more with a tune.

Welp I had the car up on the lift and found I was mistaken with a Few things.

First off It has e303 cam, and Ford SVO 303 heads.

The Injectors Are chocking the Motor at the moment. Its smoking at the pipe.
And the ecu was flashed for 42 lbs injectors. I don't need to Change anything on the ECU? I have a MAF currently on the car I just don't know if its a Matching Part. I guess ill have to ask my tech to Educate me a little on this lol.

The car was setup by a guy who had a super on it.

I was under the impression the ECU has to be setup to account for the missing supercharger.

most guys use a chip to change the ecu. it is possible the guy used a tweecer or something along those lines. You will clearly see if the computer is chipped if you look at the computer. it will be plugged in the back. if thats the case, you can just pull the chip and it will go back to stock. disconnect the negative terminal of the battery though whenever you do this

If you didn't purchase a new meter, that's the first thing i would do.
Get a PMAS meter, i'd get an 80mm.
I never seen anyone with 26 lb injectors, sure they aren't 24's?
24's are cheap, get a set because it will be much much easier to find a meter calibrated for 24's (if you in fact have 26's)

If it has a chip, as shortthrow said, just pull it out, and disconnect the battery.

I apologize I think i have been saying the wrong term. It has a chip. I think the car was never tuned to the chip? if that sounds right?

Im kinda lost on some of this. Ok a lot of it haha

But the car will run better without the chip in? Is that because the Super is no longer there?
And if that's the case how would i go about getting a performance chip for the 24/26's and setting up the MAF with 80mm? and by 80 mm you mean MAF or TB? :(

A lot of Greek for me I speak Computer not cars lol.

What type of chip is it? Is it programmable?

I'd just leave the 42's, get a chip you can dyno tune with like a SCT chip and have the whole setup dyno tuned. The 42's are a little large, but a good tuner should be able to make them livable. If anything, with your power level i'd consider 24's to be a little small. I'd go 30's.

Okay I had *24's* I found a guy with *30's* He said hell trade if i come to him.

His are new mine arent :) DEAL

and... I have the ECU kit for the car now. NOWWWWW i just need to find who in the area can tune it ALLLLLLL from the ground up to run PROPERLY.

ALSO another problem... Bout a Cold air intake fender version. Its too small....

I need an Intake that will go from my 73mm TB to the 93mm MAF then The fender spot... I have been having a real hard time locating a good performance intake for larger sized MAF's??? are they out there?

Also... Who the hell do i talk to about broken Spedo and there is a gear in trans but no cable.

Using my android phone as a HUD gps Spedo lol....

Cancer, you are still working on this from a year and a half ago?
We also need to work on your numbers.
So far you haven't gotten the size right on a single part, lol.

no idea why you have a 93mm??? maf with a 75mm TB. you need a 76 or something along those lines. You need 24s, but you can make the 30s work if you already have them. Get a calibrated MAF,Pull the chip, you do not NEED a tune for that setup at all, it should run just fine. stock intake, eddie heads and an e cam id put money that you arent making 330 wheel...

Yup.

As far as the maf, call anderson ford and get either a pmas or dbs and the matching power pipe.
