What could have made this pattern?? This can't be good.

The passenger side timing chain has alot more slack than the driver's side. This means the tensioner is not fully engaging right??

Did I install these gears the right way??

Also when I pulled the crankshaft sensor gear off, one chain link pin was half way out, is this normal???

Thanks

no it is not normal, i suggest putting new chains on and taking the others back due to defective link. in saying that, the pin that was half way out is what made the marks, which is a neat design by the way. the reason i say this is because the chain doest meet the same place everytime. it takes 52 rotations of the crank for the timing marks to line up. once you turn it. thats why the phsycodelic design

Yeah I'm really grateful it stayed together. Would you just do the whole timing set, guides, chains, tensioners?? Today I ordered brand new 42lb ford racing fuel injectors (sold the used ones I got with the blower on eBay) and Tial 50mm BOV, tomorrow I think I'm going to order an aeromotive 1 to 1 fuel pressure regulator to go on my 97 fuel rails I picked up on eBay last week. I was thinking an auto meter fuel pressure gauge to finalize things. As I put everything together I am going to throw the blower on and than head to Anderson ford to get dyno tuned.:) I will post some pics and possibly a vid of the finished build.

that is a rad pattern... sucks that it happened though

isnt something like this with the timing chains making a ticking noise and/or hitting the cover a typical problem with these motors though? not trying to jack the thread, just thought i read something about that somewhere

The weird thing is I did a head/cam/intake swap last year and replaced all the timing stuff with a timing kit from Bumper to bumper. I'm going to take this **** back and try to get my money back.

If you go to Anderson Ford to get tuned you gotta get a powerpipe. Made a huge difference on mine. And I would replace all the timing gear. Better to spend a few extra bucks and not break again.

I was looking at them:nice: I was wondering where I should get the timing stuff, should I just get it at the dealer or someplace like summit which has a trickflow timing kit for 300 bucks???

O hey blubullett how are the 4.10s with the procharger, I have 4.10s also and was wondering how they do procharged???

The Summit TrickFlow kit is all OEM ford components except for the cam spacers. They include the TrickFlow keyed ones (for turning the cams in the head) ones and the OEM smooth ones. You also get a one piece and two piece crank sprocket.

You also get OEM metal tensioners.. I would get this kit if you can. I've used it and it's nice.

Well I called the bumper to bumper and the timing set i bought from CLOYES has a lifetime warranty and I'm getting a whole new set Thursday. Reassembling this weekend and starting to install the D1. I ordered the aeromotive 1:1 fuel pressure regulator and a Diablosport for Anderson to use for tuning the following weekend. I'm excited!!!!!!!!!!! I'm almost getting blown:) HAHA
