Curious

Why do you prefer Stainless over Ceramic Coated... I thought keeping the heat in the pipe and out of the engine compartment was recommended?

I am just a newbie... but also looking for headers and this deal seems great!

I just purchased a set of BBK Long Tube Headers (ceramic coated) $529.00 and a BBK shorty H-Pipe with High Flow cats $349.00. The Ford tech I spoke with said that I should go with the ceramic coated over stainless for the same reason rlhdude mentioned, to keep heat in the pipes and out of the engine. I will however admit that I have always preferred stainless over anything in the past for the look and no rust, but in this case I think the ford tech really helped me in the long run.... :nice: less heat around or in the engine means more HP.

I have a set of bassani headers and they are ss, they have a little surface rust, comes right of. As for the heat, do you really thing that the temperature differences is going to be that dramatic, short answer no.

By the look of my MAC L/Ts now, I wish that I would have gotten something that was protected better. I can get flakes of oxidized metal off and it won't be long until I have to choice except to replace them. I will get something that doesn't rust (as much, or as quickly) because the little extra performance isn't that important to me.

$400 seems like a great price. I wonder how they fit!

i would assume that since steeda makes them, the fit would be pretty good considering they make good quality products
