4.30's = FUN!!!!!!!!

Gears are awesome, I loved 4.10s in my '02 GT and I hear 4.30s+ in a 4v DOHC are just about as much fun you can have with your clothes on. I can't wait to get some gears. :nice:

Wow, i would hate my car if it has 4.30's....my 4.10's are just right for me. Not sure if there is a difference in the way the gear ratio's tranfer for our different model cars. Glad you like them though

I tried 4.56s in my last car, and they were miserable on the street. If I tried taking off fast at all, I had NO traction in 1st through 3rd, even with 315s out back. First was a joke, second was all spin if held more than halfway, and third had to be 1/4 or less. It was like driving in the rain, but on dry pavement. If you have a high revving engine they could be fun, but I shifted at 6500 max, and that happened OFTEN in first and second for me.

To be fair my car is way different now so 4.10s wouldn't be enough so I think 4.30s would be better or some even said 4.56s but I'm skurred they might suck on the street but I agree, 4.10s were perfect for my GT.

mine car is just a 2V GT, but likes to rev to 6300+, i honestly would go to 4.56's, btw 4.30's are only 150rpm higher then 4.10's at a steady speed....

I'm contemplating 4.56s but not sure...my power curve was def skewed to the mid-upper range after the cams so either way I think 4.30s or 4.56s would make it a monster all through the rev band esp since it spins to the moon now and is basically just limited by the stock intake. :flag:

Awesome to hear!I myself been thinking about 4.30's since my GT is is 95% complete bolt on car,including cammes,and ported Bullitt intake,and think they will be perfect,but i need to get back at the track,.....been a few years :nonono:.....so i can see where exactly my GT is revving at when crossing the traps.But i feel there is room for a tad more gear,especially since the torque comes in around 3000 or so rpm,and loves the rpm up high.

i shift at about 6300, and with the 26" slick i was hardly using 4th, heres a vid, im in 4th for a second before my time comes up on the board
