Hey guys,
I got a '92 Mustang and i deleted the a/c on it. I want to keep the two lines that stick out of the firewall incase i decide down the road to reinstall the a/c. What did/have you guys used to cap or cover the lines? I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!

Your local part store ( Schucks, NAPA, Checker etc, ) Should have a rubber cap that is the right size to cover the A/C fitting. Most likely you could find it where they hang the cooling or A/C parts. I used a hose clamp to secure it in place.

Kept every parts you took of the car ( Brackets big or small for the compressor, mounting bracket for the dryer bottle. The short wiring harness that plug into the compressor, all metal A/C lines connecting the system together ). Those are parts you will have a hard time to find anywhere as the salvage yards starting to dry up as the year goes by. Wish I know better then.

Deleting a/c is one mod I have never understood. If the car is going to see some street, driving duty I would never delete it. Now if it was a drag only car I could see deleting it. To each his own. I agree with time only, you should keep every part in case you need them.

I deleted mine and have wished for longer legs to kick myself ever since.I'm gathering up parts to re-install everything. It doesn't take that much power away compared to the misery without it.....especially when it hit 114 degrees last month, then 102 and rain the next.Heat.....rain....no air conditioning....bad combo.

To each his own I guess. You declutter the engine bay, take off considerable weight, and keeps the rest of the car cool. Daily driver.... keep it, but on a weekend cruiser or just fun car, lose it. I'm going to delete the AC on my car, but I'm keeping everything. It's an R12 system but everything has been redone, but still R12. It doesn't cool that great, might need a recharge at $60 a pound my cost becase we have a stash of R12 at the shop I work.

You are de-valuing the car a good bit and making it hard to sell because there are many people out there that just can't live without it. For me, in a mustang this old, don't need any of that. Chances are the whole HVAC system is going to be comming out pretty soon.

+1

Worst mistake I ever made was deleting the A/C. Now i'm trying to round up the parts to reinstall it again.

Never know what will crawl in or build a nest under the dashboard from there. And when you are doing 125mph in the quarter mile, you really don't need any more distraction. Hahah....

Yeah, imagine a bat comes flying out of the dash vents. :rlaugh:

I work with a guy that has a cat named Lexus. One day a lexus came in for an oil change and when he popped the hood there was a cat sitting on top of the transmission, it was alright but very upset.
