Your thoughts on CHP Street Fighter stroker kits

Hello, all. After the better part of a year barely even getting to touch the Mustang, I'm going to be able to start getting my hands dirty again soon. My 68 coupe has a tired 302 in it (87 block), that will eventually be rebuilt or replaced. (Yet to do compression test, etc.) I eventually want it to be a good, fun road car that can be driven hard w/o fear of breaking loose. Some of the first things on the to-do list involve rear end and front suspension work. I am looking down the road at engine mods, though, for planning purposes. I have just started to look at these, but am curious if anyone has any experience w/ either of these kits. If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Also, thoughts on strokers in general.

I like basing things on the 302 block to stay nimble, instead of jumping up to a 351. Am I mistaken in my thinking? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

personally, I would prefer the 351 engine.
I really don't care for CHP. The last stroker kit I ordered from them required 3 slugs of malloy to balance the crankshft ($$), and I had to cut .020 from the tops of the pistons to get them at a zero deck height. I told them I had an early Winsor block, but they sent parts for a later 9.5".
Oh well, that's yesterday's news.

If you're considering a stroker on a stock 5.0 block I'd say to just save your money and buy a stock 351 for a 1/4 the price.. you'll get the same power/torque roughly and the block itself would be a little stronger than a stock block. why spend all that money only to be limited by the block and than have to rebuild it all over again and pay for all the machining costs twice when you upgrade your block later?

personally i would go with the 331. you get about the same power as an equally built 347, and you dont stress the cylinder walls like a 347 does. that said however, i also recommend going with a 351w instead as it will handle more power than the 302 based engine will, and the weight difference isnt going to be noticable on a street car.
