Well I ended up getting a 1990 LX black with red interior ( Actually looks clean) Red i snot my favorite but it has no rips or worn. Trickflow intake, TKO tranny, BBK long tubes, flowmasters. MSD ignition. I put it in the shop beacuse the headers were leaking and sounded like crap. I hope to get it today and see what it really can do.

I normally hate the red interiors, but they can look great if in good condition! :nice: Sounds like you got yourself a nice start. I got lucky/unlucky with my Stang. I bought it bone stock, from a 70 year old man who'd owned it since 2000, and only put 30k on it in the 9 years he's owned it... Lucky, in that I had a clean slate to work with... Unlucky, in that it's not the fastest car around.

Throw on some AFR 165's, get a little spray, and get a solid, reliable tune! :nice:

How about installing a Vortech supercharger in it. Or any other type of supercharger?

How's the heat off the trans tunnel?

you mean the heat off of everything, its been 110 here lately and even working in the car after the sun goes down its still rediculously hot in there, ive only been driving it small amounts to test and align stuff but still its insanely loud, heat comes off the firewall and trans tunnel nasty, i think i may just partialy interior the thing and call it a day

When it gets that hot even if the cars are dirty inside interior and outside on body no way it stays like that.. gotta stay cool.

I remember back in 97 when I was fox shoppin it was hard to find a 5-speed that wasnt ragged to **** and back. Auto's were like bellybuttons and a-holes at the time. I was hoping for 89 or a 90 but came across an 87 that had only 30K miles, 5 speed and was immaculate. Price was right and with the hard time I was having finding a 5 speed in decent shape I bit on it and that is the same one I have today.

Now I dont think I would be as concerned with the trivial little extras as I would be in whether or not the car is rusted to hell and back hidden under 100lbs of bondo. Take a damn magnet with you whenever you go shoppin. Look at the **** that is gonna cost a pile of cash to replace/fix such as complete interiors or trashed frames. Just put some common sense into the equation. As has been said, there are an assload of these cars out there for sale so its a buyers market. Dont settle for anything other than what you have decided you want. Definatelty dont fall for the " if you dont get it now I got someone else that is gonna take it as soon as you leave" ***in gag. Market is too plentiful for that ****. Forget it and move on to the next one. Now is probably the best time to be buying a foxbody because the ragged ones are dead and gone to the bone yard and the ones that got saved have become weekend warriors and have had tons of money put into them that the seller doesnt have a prayer getting back that becomes your gain.....Good luck and happy hunting......l8r

It does appear especially on manual transmission cars get the most abuse vs. the automatics. More people tend to abuse the manual or really don't know how to drive them.
