going through hell with a surging idle issue on my fox. had it fixed (alt was GONE), now its back less then a week later

it surges like all hell at idle, coming to a stop, pushing in clutch while moving, on cold starts, you name it now. anyway, i pull off the connection for the MAF and it levels out. steady rpm and it returns perfect.

car is drinking gas (bad maf should be throwing a/f way off im thinking..) however id like to test one if possible before i drop a few more hundred on this piece of crap.

im in olympia.. has to be for 24's. thank you

cancel wanting to borrow one. now im throwing code 66, maf is toast.

lets make that, wanting to BUY one asap locally if anyone's got one. pro-m preferred, but im not really picky at this point.

Just get a MAF of desired diameter and tune the computer. Changing the size of the sample tube on C&L MAF's is more of a ballpark thing. It really doesn't take that much work, drive to a dyno, install the maf, tell the guy, 2-3 runs later, you have an accurate MAF and a lot more power to boot!

Horsepower ranch has been good to me! I told John that I plan on road racing and doing a lot of hanging RPM's. He worked his magic, the motor runs cool and strong, the only problem I've had so far was forgetting the firing order when I put in better wires/new plugs.

i picked up a pro-m and got it today actually. installed it, seemed to cure the idle issues so far. hopefully it continues to idle atleast.

ill probably head to john @ hp ranch when the blower goes on. got some other stuff to take care of first though.

good to see your car is still kickin. :nice:
