I hope this is not a crack.

no, its a crack. I was in doubt about it, and i dont feel like starting the car back up to spray some water everywhere, but ill snap some pics for you guys, and circle exactly where it is coming from.

This is somewhat annoying, since FORD WAS SUPPOSE TO FIX IT!!!
this is the 2nd time its happened to me.

Ebay shipping was taking too long so I bought one at Advance and installed it and put the Ebay parts back in the Advance box and returned it the next week. They were identical and even had the torque sequence printed on the manifold.

its not the gasket. My brother confirmed the crack.
For some who havent really checked my last couple threads. About a week ago my car did slightly overheat, but i quickly caught and pulled over immediately. It was very low on coolent, didnt even realize becuase i only check in between my oil changes, and i was only about 2k miles after my last oil change.
So, i decided to flush the radiator, and change the thermostat, i did relace the gasket with a new one. And although im not the biggest car Wiz, im sure it was installed correctly. It wasnt the first time.

The rest of the week i noticed my coolent still getting low, Chris (CobraRed_96GT) explained our cars take a lot of fluid, and im prolly going to fill it up a few more times to get the right level going. I said ok.
Yesterday, i decided to clean my engine. After that was done, i started my car and let her dry. That was when i noticed the coolent dripping down a bit on the front face plate from the driver side coolent crossover side. ( in my mind, i said, omfg, again!!!! ) i had this same problem with my 98gt. So, i gave it a lil rev, and as you see in the vid, water was shooting out.

Although, i am pretty dam upset for a couple reasons. such as, Ford was suppose to correct this. Its not covered by warrenty, and finally, its just a p.i.t.a.

Upside of this. The stock manifold replacement is relatively inexpensive, However, my brother is nagging at me, that this is a good time for a Typhoon Manifold, Throttle Body, and Plenum Upgrade.

I will keep this thread going to throw up some before and after pics, and the build progress, ( i know its not that hard to do all this, but its a big deal for me :D)

check out the writeup i made for this. i included it in one of my previous posts in this thread: 99-01 PI to PI Intake Manifold Swap Writeup - Mustang Forums at StangNet

its a BREEZE :nice:

f it i blew the heater hose nipples of the back of 2 stock intakes. i just got a good deal on a typhoon intake and will never have any problems with cracks again

did you have the correct retainer clips on the hoses? they shouldnt just blow off. what do you mean by nipples exactly? :D

just for clarification, his problem is in the front of the intake right by the thermostat, not back

no the hose clamps on to the back of the intake. the nipple is the 1/2 inch port on the back of the intake. i know, they are known to break these and crack in the front but screw the plastic intake, replace with all metal.
