8.8 rearend whining noise in reverse

LOL

Seriously. Fox Fords have more resources available than almost any Ford out there and you're proud of yourself for coming up with that combo? I'm sure it's a real nice car, but with several major forums, hundreds (thousands?) of specialty sites, car-specific vendors, and even magazines, you make it seem like it was some really hard thing to do?

The funny thing is, you're complaining about how this site sucks, and about how easy it is to do research on the web, but you still came here with the question.

It's the internet, man, it's free advice. You don't work here, you don't have to come 'round.

Shut yer trap XP8, this site sucks for tech advice, admit it. I'm sorry I don't have a hot rod noise dictionary. I did mention that it didn't make the noise until I installed the new brakes. It doesn't sound like a moan either, its actually a long drawn out fart squeal low trumpet noise. Is that better creampuff?? Except for a few geniuses on this site like JRICHKER, most of the advice you get on here is lame. Most people treat you like your stupid and ask if you put gear oil in it. Yes I put oil in the rear end. I think I'd cover that before asking on here about my problems. That's because they have no real advice or experience to really give. I only post on here in worse case scenarios when Im just too lazy to just call the manufacturer or its too late at night to do so. When I do post or try to give technical advice about what I'm doing I get 3 dozen clowns telling me it can't be done. EXAMPLE: You can't put that size tire on an 85. You can't put bullits on 87-93 rotors. You can't put a 5-speed behind a big block. You can't put a stock hood over a big block. Well I'm here to say I did them all. Its called do some research, choose your parts carefully and actually do some work. Thanks to my own efforts and little to no help from anyone on this forum I run a 501 BBF with TKO600 5-speed in traffic at 190* in drought infested 95+ daily weather in south texas. My tires don't rub, my car corners like its on rails, and stops on a dime. So eat it wannabe car builders. Dont slap flowmasters, cobra rims and trickflow heads on your "Stang" and think you know anything about custom 5.0 building. God damnit I hate this ****ing site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you dont like it then leave it, sweet job you fit a big block under a stock hood and it runs cool, if i had an award id give it to you. you must have some big brakes up front to get bertha under the hood slowed down.

R whines in almost every car except an automatic. Really easy to tell if someone has a manual and is in reverse. Unless you rely on back up lights. Your new pieces have most likely changed the harmonics in your rear. Causing an audible whine.

See, you make it seem like everyone on here has a big block 5-speed mustang. I use carbs, oddball motors, custom parts, and an 85 Mustang which is very different from an 87-93. So its not so easy to build when everyone else has fuel injection and a 302 with some heads and mufflers. Besides the uni-body, my 85 shares no common parts with a newer mustang. I'm aware of the other sites, I'm very computer savvy.
When I put the 5-speed in nobody knew anything about it because they were all running a C6 auto. I couldnt get headers for it, so they had to be custom made, at the time the bellhousing had to be custom made, custom made gauge cluster and so on. Everything is different with my combo and the 85 in general. So yes it can be very difficult to get the right answers and the right parts. On top of that, I have no Ford friends, they all own Chevys. I've had to build everything by myself. The only thing I didn't do was put the tires on the rims and the alignment. So sometimes I get frustrated and I snap on people because maybe I would appreciate getting some real help sometimes. Life in general isn't that easy sometimes, and it's not any easier when you're building a custom car in your spare time.
I've built every brand, but Ford is the most annoying out of them all. I'd build a Vespa, AMC, or Mopar anyday over a Ford. It seems every part you use or any system you work on, there is always that one thing that the Ford engineers threw in there to screw you up. It drives me nuts sometimes. Trust me, after trying them all, Chevy is by far the easiest and cheapest and most durable. If I didn't have such a bond to this particular car, I would have had it crushed by now, lol.

Not really complaining about my car, complaining about the lack of knowledge on this site. So you keep that there maxipad for yourself chief. Haven't had much use for any of the "help" on here so I don't think I'm going to start with your offer.

jeezus, did a search for a whiny sound in reverse and found this thread. whoa. kinda gave me an idea on what my problem is though

You got close. You searched for 'whiny' and got 'whiny and entitled' as a bonus! :D

If the dude weren't such a prick, people might have answered his questions instead of passing by his thread. Folks like that end up trolling for trolls. lol

Over the years I've completely lost count of the number of threads I've seen where the tone of their post is just wrong. They think that because they've created a thread that they are 'owed' some sort of explanation as if the hard earned money they paid for their subscription and membership to Stangnet entitles them to an accurate and rapid response. Instead, folks pickup that tone and move along to the next thread letting that dude just 'sit and spin'.

Perhaps in another universe, Stangnet charges for its memberships.
