I have a quick question about obtaining a door panel arm rest for a 70 Mustang in red. I search online and find black and white. Am I to assume that I have to paint a white one?

Thanks for the the help

I don't know if I wouldn't try dyeing or painting a white one rather than a black one. It's supposed to be easier to cover lighter colors with darker colors?
If you have to recolor one, the spray bomb is not the way to go. WHen I spray interior panels that are plastic, I use an adhesion agent first, then the paint-with a paint gun and good (expensive) automotive paint-like Sikkens Rally Black. I've painted over a bunch of red interior parts before with Rally Black :)

You shouldbe able to get a pint of red mixed up in the right shade to spray with from any good pant shop like Baps or Unicoat. Just need the paint color code.

I would definitely use a black one, and yes, you'll have to dye one. The hard part is getting the mold release agent off, or it'll act like a paint release.

Glazier Nolan might have a used one in red.

I would use black too. I would think the white one would end up looking pink. I hate dying parts though. I have never gotten good results with it the few times I tried. Now I don't fool with it at all. I find the color I need. I can't believe they don't reproduce it.

Thanks for the replies. I never thought about the white not being dark enough to cover. I work for a new car dealer and we use a guy who repairs leather/vinyl maybe I'll see what he thinks.

Thanks again
