Ok lately I've been noticing that when I first start out the car in the morning, or after it has been sitting a long time and or, I've been driving on the freeway without using the clutch pedal the amount of pressure required to push it goes up significantly to the point of it being noticeable to me.

Is there something going on with my clutch that I should know about like a failure brewing? I normally don't abuse the clutch so at 30K miles I dunno what it can be.

the throw out bearing on the slave cylinder
might be hanging up on the transmission
input shaft.

or there may be a problem with the pressure
plate.

either way, trouble may indeed be brewing.

Clutch going out: said the dealership

OK so I take the car to the dealership and they tell me there is an issue with the pressure plate and the clutch is going out.

The car has just 30K miles it's a 2007 and I don't beat on it and you guess it they won't warranty the thing out because they claim it's wear and tear.

What do I do? they want 1600 to replace it. Should I go to other dealerships and hope somone warranties the thing or am I basically up the creek?

If that's the case what's a good clutch/flywheel setup for 300-400HP range?
EDIT: I'm thinking Fidanza aluminium flywheel + 2.1 street clutch. Also how many crank bolts does the flywheel have 6 or 8?

Standard gt crank has 6 bolts. Get your own parts and find a good shop to do install .Should cost about $400 for labor. Depending on what you buy parts will run around $700 for a decent set up.
