Hey Guys,
Lookings to do the jmc hydraulic clutch on my resto '66, but couldn't confirm by looking at other installs, if you can run a brake booster (ssbc power brakes and booster) and the jmc clutch cylinder. Will they both fit? Or will it not work with the power brake booster (not plannin on going back taking the booster off).

Thanks,
Nate

I have a CNC 3/4" Master for my clutch and running the original style Midland booster and there is plenty of room. Just plan on removing the brake booster to gain some room to install the clutch master.

65-66 are much different than the 67-69 stuff in regards to the Booster to MC closeness. 65-66 are much closer. I have gotten them to fit. Not sure if it's a SSBC booster or not. But I have to slightly modify the bottom of the pivot point to get it to clear. Cut the head of the pin and weld it in flush to get it to clear.

The bellcrank style brake boosters will fit the with the hydraulic clutch master.

ie PBC-M1, 2, 3 etc.

Some of the CNC masters were custom made for JMC at a slight angle. We are reproducing the kit but CNC won't do the custom angle for us, so we're making a shim to angle it.

Should be out soon...

Really ? They had 60 on the shelf that Jon left them with they were willing to sell. We were going to buy them but decided not to because they wouldn't sell them to just us. Wasn't going to invest all that money to just have a bunch of other people competing for the same thing. that and the phones ring too much now. Didn't want to explain the bleed process every day. :nonono:

It looks like Mustangs Plus has some JMC hydraulic kits left, but they're selling them as part of a whole t5 swap kit.

I'm looking to put a t5 in my '67 cougar, which has power brakes. Reading this post, it looks like the JMC kit should work, so I'll probably go with the Mustangs Plus kit. The price seems pretty reasonable considering it has a lot of the stuff I'm going to need to get.

Jay,
I'm doing a T5 conversion in my 67 with power brakes.
Is this the shim you were referring to?

I've got a Midland clamp-type booster on mine.
So what I'm gathering is that this will angle the master cylinder in such a way that it clears the booster, presuming that I use this style with a remote reservoir?

If so, and it's angled down, then I guess the rod to engage it to the clutch pedal will have to be at the same angle. Should I then just drill a new hole in the clutch pedal that is at the projected line of the MC to attach a rod to it?
Thanks

Yes that is the shim for the master you have showing.

The bellcrank booster would clear the master even if it wasn't shimmed. This shim it to get the correct angle on the clutch push rod to eliminate side shear and in turn premature failure of the clutch master. There's no way to run a straight shot at the master with a straight rod because the column gets in the way. You use the original hole.

Yes we've come out with complete bracket systems for the cnc master and slave. The shim is available separately for those with the original JMC kit using the master shown. These were originally welded with an angle for these kits.

I think it was already mentioned, but any of the PBC-M.* will work.

The entire booster is pushed up about an inch or so. But the stock export bracket needs to be removed for operation. You can run an aftermarket one in it's place.

Great pics Markus.
I've got the clamp-style Midland booster:

I understand that this is the same diameter (7") as the Fox booster like you have.
It looks tight, but do-able.
Thanks alot for your input.
I've not seen pics like you provided and something like that is invaluable.
