Yep, just the Ford Racing Hydro rollers will work just fine. You may also want to consider rocker stud girdles and spend the money on good high quality rockers. Crane Golds work great or the higher end Scorpions work good also. One other thing, if you're going with the N111, I'd recommend 4:56 gears over the 4:30s.That cam will be comfy on the street with the 4:56s , plus you have overdrive so highway cruising is no problem.

Well as of now im trying to sell the 347 for 357w.But if it dosent sell im going with pretty much same set up as you.You think the 4:30's arent enough for the n111? I mean im still on a t5 im not going to be slaming gears i just want to get the motor together and drive it b4 it snows here in wisconsin.

Whats your rpm at in 5th when your doing 45?im running a 17inch rim with 275/35/17 hoosier .

Agreed, you'd want to be in fourth. I only use 5th in mine at about 75 or 80 mph, then it just fine. Not even breathing hard though.

After hearing what you have to say on this thread and in PM's about that cam, i think i'm gonna get one this winter. Hyd cam spinning to 7800... My bottom end would love that

WOW! I have a cam that is close to N-91 with about .1" more lift and it is a solid and it does not buck. Thank god, as I told Ed when he did the second cam I want the power between 2200-7000rpm. The old cam was about the same as the N-111 and would buck under 55mph, but fifth gear was still usable. I chose to sacrifice performance for drivability on the solid roller pulling some duration but adding lift.

I think you'd be pleasantly surprised. Keep in mind, head flow is going to be a big factor in how well it does in the upper rpms. My Canfields done by Brian Tooley were flowed at 308 / 264 (I know..crazy exhaust #s). Anyway, I think they really helped the N-111 in my case hold the curve up high. With less cylinder head it may be better shifting at 7200 or 7400 depending....you'll have to see where it likes best on the dyno.

Just a thought as I don’t want to start anything...if your having to replace valve springs every year.

Would it not be cheaper in the long run to run a solid cam off the back and save your money in the long run with replacing the springs every season?

I guess why a hydraulic?...I am bias as I am use to solid roller in tractor pulling. Plus having broke the boss off the head on the mustang the first time to the track I guess I have a bad taste (although it would have not broke if I had a stud girdle). Also everyone tells me 6500 max for a hydraulic. I am tring to turn 7500rpm:).

You're absolutely right Hotfox, solid rollers are superior. I ran hydraulic in this setup basically because at the time I put it all together, I didn't know alot about solid rollers and the car was to see alot of street time. As far as hydraulics go though, I am impressed with the Anderson stuff. The 347 waiting to be dropped in the car has a custom solid roller cam (8,300 rpm shift points). Don't know when I might get around to finishing it though. Still parts collecting and planning.

I wanted to chime in here to get you guy's opinion about what I'm planning. I'm gonna be dropping in a stock-block 333 in my car with AFR 185s, Holley Systemax intake...I'm still trying to decide if I wanna go with the Trickflow stage 2 or the Comp Extreme Energy 282 cam. Whick one do you think would give better results? The car will be a weekend toy to play with on the street and occasionally run on the track. I was thinking if I don't make 400 or so to the wheels then I'd spray it a little. I don't need to rev to 7000rpms though. I'd be ok reving to 6500 or 6700rpms.

Oh, I'll be putting my Tremec 3550 and 3.73's in too. I don't think the 3.55s will be enough.

go with the comp cam err the xe282 since comp is the one that grinds trickflow there cams.
