I am looking at upgrading my brakes and was looking for some advise. I have seen the GT BAER Cross Drilled & Slotted Rotors 4pc Set for only 300.00 dollars, which seems to be a steal.
Any feedback on the quality??

I was going to add the J&M Stainless Steel Teflon Lined Brake Hose Kits in addition.

What else should I do or add for a lower price upgarde??

This is a cruizer, I am not racing.

Upgrade the pads to something like the Hawk HPS or something similar, they will make more of a difference than the rotors. I should probably get stainless lines as well, I know it makes a big difference. But if you are going to spend 300 on rotors, 200 on lines and about 150 on pads for fronts and rears, you should look at getting a GT500 or Saleen kit on Ebay for about $900. Better deals are out there if you are patient and look around.

I'm going to have to agree. Unless your rotors are shot your greatest return for your investment (and the cheapest) is to get better brake pads, and some stainless steel lines.

But I also have to disagree in the sense that while the big brake kits you can get for $900 bucks or so are a huge deal on their own when you factor in the cost of having to upgrade to wheels that will allow you to run them they may quickly fall beyond your budget in a hurry.

Case in point, my Stoptech Saleen big brakes have been proudly displayed in my livingroom for over 6 months because I can't afford to buy wheels to run them.

Sure I saved about 2K in MSRP but they're not helping my car stop any better parked by the couch.

I have two sets of 18 inch wheels

I have two sets of 18 inch wheels, polished bullets and fanblades, would the GT 500 brakes fit these?

In addition the Baer are the DecelaRotors which are slotted and cross drilled, they are a direct replacement. The 300.00 is for 4, front and back.

I have been looking at the black chrome Shelby knock off wheels also. I'm guessing the larger 14 inch rotors would be fine; they are 18 inch wheels also.

Buying Wheels seems to Addictive!

No they won't work.

The only wheels that work with big brake kits that I found are GT500s, GT4s, Roush, and Saleen that are common. Outside those you'll have to do your own research on fitment.

What would you guys recommend for over the counter upgrades for brakes and rotors staying origional size. I have a 06 GT. Also where would be a good place to get them at a good price.
thanks
