Getting tired of my H&R Super Sports

My car is just too low. I've always heard that H&Rs don't sag but it seems like my car has gotten lower lately. I scrape on everything. I can't even get it on the alignment rack at school.

I'd like to raise it back up about an inch and I would still have a 1" drop. Any suggestions?

i would just get some poly isolators for the front and rear, this would not only raise the car a little due to them being thicker, but you would also add a little more smooth-ness (ride quality) to the car.

I put those in when I first installed the springs five years ago... You think they're worn out? I still have less than 80K on this car.

I mean i'd try the iso first. Just because you only have 80k on it, 5 years is 5 years. I would also never go back to stock, and a 1" drop isn't enough either. The 1.5 may be better. My C-springs aren't enough of a drop for my taste either.

Hell yeah I've got suggestions!!! H&R vert springs are (for some stupid reason) rated for more front drop than the coupe springs. I had the same problem. Scraping the K member everywhere. Drove me nuts having to be so careful as I drove the car.

I bought a pair of Roush front springs from Stage3Motorsports for about 150 bucks. Must have been 4 or 5 years ago after I got fed up with the scraping (I lived with it for about 1 year). My car now sits low and level, and rides perfectly. Before it was raked forward.... Completely slammed at the front! I havent scraped since. It doesnt take much to fix it. Just a very small lift.

If you didnt want to change springs you could try going for Polyurethane bushing thingies. They tend to be slightly thicker than stock. Personally though, I have the Roush front springs and couldnt be happier. I say go with those. I'll try to find pics....

EDIT: Just read the rest of the responses. Wouldn't have posted about the isolators if I'd bothered reading above!!!!

I was looking at an old picture before I lowered the car and it had a measuring tape. At that time it was 28-1/4" from floor to top of front fender wheel well. I know the original drop wasn't quite 2". I just measured it and right now it's 25-3/4". A total of 2-1/2" from original. Maybe my blower is causing it to hang lower, I don't know.

Found an old pic....

While I'm at it I may as well whore out a pic of the Roush Stage 3 wing that I just got done installing... My car is filthy I know, but I love the new spoiler!:nice:

I'll do the Stage 3 nose this winter while shes in the heated garage.:nice:

That's how mine used to look... see sig picture. Now the tire almost doesn't clear the wheel well opening from the side. :(

Mine was awful from day 1 with the H&Rs.:( I have had the Roush springs for 4 or 5 years. No change in drop at all.:nice::nice:

If its really sagged that much, I would change the springs for sure.

Good luck my friend.

So, you can buy just the front springs? That's even more expensive than the H&Rs.

See how low it is...? Excuse the dirt, it's snowing here and the car is pretty dirty. Those are Blizzaks on it right now but they are 245/45R17, same size as original tires.

Thats not good dude. Theyve sagged. Remember the old Eibach ProKit. Back in the day you could pretty much watch them sag they were so bad!!!

Yeah get new fronts. Check out Roush springs on ebay. I did my research and figured they were perfect to match the H&R rears. My car came out level and handles the same as before without the awful scrapeage.

I remember those Eibachs well. Never thought an H&R would sag but they have.

Do you have a model number for your springs?

Not sure, mate. I'll check to see if I can see the model number tomorrow. I have stock isolators BTW.

I seem to remember back in the day you were in another club with me. I think it was BAM. Is that correct? If so, do you remember the guy that was a manager at H&R? He gave me free wheel spacers and a free pass to SEMA in '04. Do you remember him? I was living in Las Vegas then.

A local club? If so it wasn't me... I'm living in Massachusetts. Before that was England.

No, not a local club. It was "Bad Ass Mustangs" (BAM) I think. I think I helped you come up with that avatar... or else it was someone else going by "007". I've been in all these clubs since '98. But I settled here.

Do you remember Robin? She was a mod. I just emailed her and she said the guys name is Steve Perret.
