I know that FMS (now FRPP) used to sell a 15 gallon fuel tank like the one used on the 351R but that is only 1 gallon larger than stock. Does anyone know of a higher capacity fuel tank for our cars?
How much space do we have to give under there? Seems like the couple times i had mine out, there's not much room for expansion besides straight down....which would kill the looks unless u added a lower bumper. Slicing the bumper in half on a horizontal plane then welding in metal...would probably add a few gallons. Just depends if its really worth it to ya....
Owners manual states we have a 15.4 gallon tank, best I can get is 14 when I'm really low. Not sure I could get 15.4 on a completely empty tank though.
The 95 Cobra R tank was 20-gallons. Some places mention 22-gallon, but I'm fairly sure it's only 20. The tank was larger than the other Mustang tanks to increase race time between pit stops.
You can still buy them but IIRC they are like $2400.
I've seen this model most often on stangs. Expensive, but safety is ramped up big time. It is also supposed to fit in the same stock location, i.e. it's now wider than a stock tank so should be no issue with tires, exhaust, etc.
