I hope someone here can help me. My car drives great except for WOT when the outdoor temperature is cool. Like when temperatures outdoors go below 60 degrees. If I punch the gas WOT I get this nasty popping/grinding noise, very similar to what a stationary burnout sounds like, and the car does not accelerate. if I punch it at 45 mph for example, my revs shoot up, the boost kicks in and rises as it should, I just get this weird rear end noise and if feels like I'm spinning in place. It almost feels like when you miss a gear or the clutch slips on a manual. I thought it could be the torque converter so I scrapped the stock piece and added a TCI streetfighter. This did not solve the issue. But if i accelerate half throttle I take off normally with no problem. The car drives completely fine as long as I don't go WOT when it is cold out. Could I just be spinning my tires? I wouldnt think so because the car does not get squirrely and fishtail like i would expect with a rolling wheelspin. Another thought is the differential starting to fail. I dont think it could be engine/fuel delivery/timing since i don't get an engine light. The only reason I can think that cold weather would make a difference is maybe cooler temps mean more power, and if somthing is starting to fail, the extra power just excacerbates the problem. Any thoughts on this?
