Built Ford Tough!!

Just wanted to show everyone how well built the new mustang is. I got rearended yesterday morning by a mercedes going probably 25 mph when she hit me. Her whole hood was crumpled and this is what my car looked like after the accident. Hope this never happens to anyone else but just know that the car is well built.

Actually, there should be NO deductible once the party that hit him accepts liability which should happen quickly on an accident like this. They will pay for ALL damages without a deductible.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but hoods are made to crumple. This is to absorb force. In an accident, just because one car is more banged up than the other doesn't mean it's not built well. This also works conversely. Just because one car hardly had a dent doesn't mean it's better built or the occupants were any safer. On the contrary, if the energy of the crash is not absorbed by the car, then it is absorbed by your body. Transfer of energy. That's why steel cars of the past hold up in accidents, but the occupants sustained much more serious injury. I'd rather be in a nice crumply Volvo than in an all steel 49 Merc. Yes, I might be paying more out of pocket in the accident, but at least I'll be safer.

Yeah i didnt have to pay a thing. I am however paying a little extra for a 2010 F150 to have as my rental car because there was no way i was going to drive a Chevy Aveo for 2 weeks!:notnice:

Make sure the other persons insurance not only gives you the rental car allowance but also pays for the value loss on the car due to the accident. That should be about another $300 in your pocket!
