drag launch springs? yes or no?

Looking to get better weight transfer but still have a decent ride. Anyone use the Eibach Springs Drag-Launch Springs on here? I want to lower my 07 Gt but I dont want it to be uncapable of gettin tracion either. These springs were great on a buddys fox body. It lowered the car all the way around about an inch. He cut a coil off the front and the car drove like a caddy and transfered weight like a champ. Didnt know if someone had any input???

Sure it will ride fine but what struts are going to use? You can't have it both ways, if you put those springs on with factory or handling struts they wont work work as good as they're supposed to. You have to choose, drag or handling if you mix neither will work 100%. One more thing to consider when lowering you lose traction by changing the instant center of the vehicle, this can be corrected with LCA relocation brackets. The best ones are from CHE. LCA's would be good too no matter what you want.

yea im not big on blasting around corners but i dont want the car to drive like crap cause it is my daily. My car has a saleen charger with a JDM tune stock exhaust except axle back and a set of lower control arms its been 12.2 @ 117.0 with a 1.9 60ft before the J&M LCA were done didnt do the upper do to spring decisions lol. That was on a 255 street tire. Its just a tuff call cause they look so good lowered but i dont want to sacrifice the traction.

When I bought my springs, I was told by the guys at StangSuspension.com (now closed due to the economy) that the Pro-Kit would give me the best mix of race/street performance. I wouldn't wanna drive on the street with drag launch springs. Not for any distance.

I really don't think drag springs are the way to go either. You can lower it, just make sure you get relocation brackets and a 3rd adjustable link to set proper pinion angle, once you have that a set of track tires will help you out more then drag springs.

I'm getting Cobra Jet springs, the best springs out there if you are SERIOUS about Drag Racing.

I take it those are drag racing rate springs.
Sure they work great, but at a high compromise for street driving. The front of your car will want to move and sway around quite a bit as the spring rate is rather low to allow the suspension to cycle freely. I doubt the OEM struts would last long as they're not going to be able to extend the same as the spring.

Judging by your ET & MPH, you could be in the mid to high 11s at around 115 MPH with sticky tires. Your MPH will drop when you get more traction which doesn't allow the tires to spin as much to gain speed, but the added traction will make your 60' and 330' times much lower

A lot of us, myself included, went with Tokico D-Specs. They're adjustable. At the track you put the rear on full firm and the front on full soft, and then you just adjust them before you leave for a nice, comfortable ride on the street.

Those weren't out when I bought my springs, or I probably would've considered it. A lower drop in the back was also a big thing for me, though. I wanted to drop the rear a little more than the front.
