i did the FL fix... just installed a new HL pigtail and HL switch... now when i turn on my lites... the fogs burn correctly as do the heads... but with the lights on... my seat belt lite stays on... my cruise wont work... my horn wont blow... and the glove box lite wont work... and my ac/heat control lites wont burn... pull off the lites... my idiots lites come on for a second then fade... everything works... does this sound like a MF switch issue also... ??? i have a parts car which i changed the MF switch... so that is kinda ruled out... any ideas... its driving me nuts...

Try completely disconnecting any aftermarket alarms and or remote start and or keyless entry systems.

I've seen many nightmares caused by these systems, due to improper installation and or horrible product quality.

You may have the remnants of such a system in the car without you knowing about it, so check for it and get rid of it all.

Good luck!

Did the issue exist with the other MF switch? If not, be sure the switches are compatible (there's a difference in the airbag cars vs non-airbag car MF switches).

You do know its spelled LIGHTS right??? We're not talking beer here!

Not to poke fun, but you meant to write "it's."

most like there is a short in the circuit some where think about it, not necessarily a wire issue, but I would go check all the wires and connections make sure there perfect check voltage at all connectors and check grounds if your not getting voltage there trace back the wire and keep checking for voltage until you get to power source it should be a piece of cake to figure out if you take your time

i changed out the old dash/dome lite switch with my old baby... i jiggly it and sumtimes the dash burns or dont... when it burns... no cruise or glove box lite... im starting to git suspect of the dash /dome switch... im not a real hi-speed electrical dood... i can fix stuff but all this stock rainbow wiring is kinda tricky... ive checked and lubed the MF connections... a couple are loose in the plastic connector but are making contact... im gonna pull the dash/dome switch again tonite and give it a good cleenin... ill keep ya updated... (still beets sittin on my ass watchin the toob)...

do you have a haynes manual or some wire diagrams? If you do look at them and see if it intersects anywhere with the cruise control wires and/or glove box I am going to my garage thursday and I can look at the diagrams and probably can tell you where to look. but there is a good chance that you are correct it could be the MF switch

fuses are all good... all wiring looks good... ive had the gauge cluster off eyeballin the wires...pulled the fuse block...it looks good... checked all the grounds i can find... checked for snugness and squirted wd-40 on em... i dont know whut else to do... i wood hate to buy a MF switch for a hunnert bucks and that not be the issue... that wood be a MF... !!! :rlaugh: im bout to just give up and live with it...
