Considering my options of a catback. there are several i like and most am familiar with but i have not heard the magnaflow cb in person on a 99-04 car. im talking about the standard magnaflow cb ( pn # MPE-15671 ) NOT the magna packs. i do like the packs ok but curious how loud the others are. give me some comparison as to the audibility between standard magnaflow to flowmasters, bassani, mac, etc.

only real reason im considering the reg magnaflow cb is that ive found a possible good deal on a low mile used kit, and i like that its stainless.

ill be connecting w/e cb i get to a o/r X pipe. my first top choice is the borla stingers but sheesh - the price! my next choice is a mac cb. its cheap and sounds great. several others that i like, i just dont want flowmasters. flows sound great but in the town i live in, EVERYONE has them.

without an o/r pipe they are going to be very quiet, but with a o/r pipe they sounds pretty damn good. they will scream at WOT and be pretty quiet at idle to about 2k. quality is top notch, and they are one of the best performance mufflers on the market.

im one of those guys that like it about as loud as possible but still having a tone to where it sounds good. not just noise.

im still interested in these

anyone have any sound clips?

I have them on mine with LT's and a H pipe and I love them. They are quite when cruising around and have a nice tone at idle but really open up with you let it rip. They are by far my favorite muffler so far! I'll see if i have a clip to give you an idea

I've got a Magnaflow catback with a catted x and I am very happy with it. It is just the right amount of noise while cruising, but when you goose it, it really rips. I used to have Flowmasters and an o/r h-pipe on my old '95 and these are almost as loud at WOT than the flows. I can't imagine them with an o/r x-pipe. Maybe someday I'll get one and find out, but for now I daily drive the car so I don't really want it crazy loud. Maybe I'm getting old haha.

That was my car a few years ago. I got compliments all the time, magnaflow is a little bit mellow, but sounds excellent with an o/r x I don't know how loud you want but i've had people hear me from 3 blocks away without even getting on it

thanks for the clip man. im at work behind a filter at the moment :notnice: . will def take a look at it when i get home tho

If you want a loud system go with SLP. I have a full SLP and it is ridiculously loud. But sounds soooo nice. I have the long tube herders, Xpipe No cats, and cat back system. Ill find my vid when get to the house and upload it. Its nice because it dose not require welding. And its in milti part system so you can pop your cats in or change the muffler out in must about 10 minutes just incase you have to go in for inspection. People can here you coming and going so if you want loud go for the SLP System. The only difference in between the SLP Systems are the mufflers and they are interchangeable so you can have all three mufflers for when you want a tone change.

The SLP is an aggressive sounding system, hitting it hard or not.:D:nice::lol:

i like the slp as well but not all that crazy about the LM1's with a o/r mid pipe. however i do like the LM2's with a o/r x . ive head the fit n finish of this kit is awesome

No problem, it is a before and after video of the o/r x The o/r x is the only way to go with the magnaflows, made it sound 10x better. I'll agree with the above statements, mellow when cruising, very noticable when you lay into it

I dont understand the "quiet" comments:shrug::shrug: Mine were pretty loud stock and over the last 8 years they got much louder. I've had people say they cant believe how loud my car is. I'd never want anything louder for fear of getting pulled over.

Mag catback, catted X and BBK headers. Should have got long tubes, but would never change the catback.:nice:

My 'vert had a magnaflow stainless o/r x-pipe and magnaflow stainless catback. It was quiet.

They won't impress andbody at idle or even revving your engine out of gear, but when you get on it they sound great. I get a lot of compliments. Magnaflow has a little more of a refined sound then most setups. They match what the true mustang sound has been for the last 25 years with more umph. In my opinion.
