Info leaked on the 2011 GT from Edmund's

That heavy '10 SHO you're talking about starts around $35K after rebate which is only a couple grand more than a popularly equipped '10 Mustang GT Premium. And the SHO runs mid 13's @ 103 mph in the 1/4 mile, which is quicker than every "classic" 5.0L Fox-Bodied Mustang as delivered from the factory!

Corrected I removed "most"

Mehhh, "5.SLOWS" (and all other variations) have been kicking butt since day one. I suspect the comments are made more out of envy, than anything else. The haters can punk all over the Mustang all they'd like...in the end, it always seems to the the staple that every other person compares their so called "fast car" to. :nice:

I know what you mean!! Our beloved little pony car has be running non stop since 1964, which is way better than what any of the other guys can say! I am glad Ford is finally giving us a powerfull stang fresh off the showroom floor! I can only imagine what a Cobra will have.

I am excited about this new motor. I can't wait to hear all the details on it. I am going to have to get one of these cars in the new few years

I hear you me to! Need another 5.0 mine are getting lonely!!

Does anyone know if this is the same 5.0 the have in Australlia? I know it was when they first starting kicking the idea around.

ours will be supercharged from the get go.

The application in our cars (large RWD sedans), being allot heavier than your Mustang, requires a fair bit more mumbo to better what we already have with the current 5.4 4V which puts out ~422hp.

Key word in that is a "Popularly" equipped mustang vs a "base" SHO... If it came down to performance you could buy a '10 GT for 24k and have it running deep 11's even high 10's before you spent 35k total.

There really isn't such a thing as a "base" SHO. The standard equipment on a '10 SHO is as good (or better) than a popularly equipped '10 Mustang Premium GT.

What I was trying to get at is that the SHO and Premium GT Coupe cost very nearly the same when you equip them the same. And, considering that both run mid to high 13's at 103+ in the 1/4 mile and that SHO is quite impressive.

There's no aftermarket support for the SHO, so we aren't going to see (m)any get into the 12's or quicker, and there's no V8 rumble, but for someone who needs to seat 5 adults comfortably and/or needs AWD, that SHO is so cool.

What a great debut for Ford's new EcoBoost™ engine lineup!

Just received photos of the new 5.0 liter power plant. It's mad sexy.

Keep your eyes peeled on the StangNet homepage for when the embargo is lifted; we'll have all the eye candy you can shake a stick at!

considering it's already hit the net... here it is for you..

That's the only picture and size available for right now. It looks like a wire tuck, battery relocation, and short intake are in order and it would look ten times cleaner. :nice:

That would look really good. That engine bay looks so good already that it would almost be a shame to change that intake and engine cover by putting a twin screw on it... maybe I will have to start looking into turbos more. A turbonetics GTK would be the cherry on top in there.
