i found a guy who has a 03 cobra that has a salvage title becuase someone keyed it, and trashed the interior. it needs seat skins, carpeting, a radio, and a few other cheap interior components. i work at a auto body shop, so i get it repainted for a really good price. like 500-600 bucks. it only has 41k miles, and is a six speed. he would be up for trading for my 00 gt, that is only worth about 6k and has 94k on it. would you guys trade for it. or would you keep your car.

any input is appreciated. btw i can install all of the cars components it needs so no labor for anything at all.

NONE of that stuff is cheap especially the seat skins...

I get a strong feeling there is more here than meets the eye. Tell me again why does it have a salvage title exactly? Why would the Cobra owner make such a trade? This does not add up.

I agree with Killy.

I seriously, seriously doubt a keyed Cobra with a trashed interior would be totalled.

And why would he not just sell it off for 10-12k instead of trading for a GT that's worth something in the 6k range?

I can understand the possibility of something being up... but I'd check it out and drive it and if all seems well I'd still go for it.

Every once in a while you run across a trade where someone has just lost their damn mind and doesnt want to screw with their ride anymore.... and want's your 6k GT.:D

ya i didnt mean the seat skins or those parts where cheap, but they are just a few little odds and ends that are cheap. he said he bought the car as a project, but totally lost interest in it, and just wants a car that doesnt need his time. he said he hates to see such a car just sit when someone else can put some time into and have a cool car.

The Cobra is always going to have a salvage title, even if it is fixed up. Down the road, it's never going to be worth much. One person already has given up on what is supposed to be "cheap and easy." That tells me something.

Is it on the baltimore craigslist because if it is DONT trade. The car is pretty beat and needs ALOT of work. It need complete interior, from carpet to dash, center console, all of the seats. Some serious body work but thats down your alley so you might be able to get away with that. There is also something mechanically wrong with the car. I brought a battery with me to start it up (he said the battery was dead in an email he sent me) and he said the car was out of gas and that there was no need to try to start it.
