Bought the car when i was 17, have it almost 10 years now and worked on it the last 4 years or so, before that it was driving in the summer and working on it in the winter time.
When i bought it, it was a 65 Mustang Coupe V8 (orginal V8 car) popy red with a C4 automatic Standard interior and hacked up dash for a stereo
It was import from CA in 1999 and was a black plates car
In the years to come i fitted a Discbrake swap, some new wheels and a stainless dual exhaust. Also cleaned up the engine bay and fitted a couple chrome valve covers and aircleaner.
I was verry happy with the car, but the paint wasnt that great... it was sprayed over all the doorseals etc... so decided to strip the car.
Did the whole project with my dad who made countless of stainless steel brackets and other custom things
The engine bay had seen beter days
This was the only rust we could find on the whole car
To be sure we sanded the car to the bare metal
Underneath the battery tray was some mild corrosion, to be sure we replaced it
Than it was time for primer and anti rust coatings.
First coating
Primer
Final coating
And then time for paint ! Wanted a custom color so we sprayed the car white, then a VW yellow and topped it of with some Pearlescent topcoat from honda with a twist and sanded it all down, sprayed some stripes with a silver metallic and then sanded it some more so you couldnt feel the stripes and on went 6to 7 layers of clearcoat
And the engine bay got some highgloss black
The engine also get a yellow paint job (this was the first engine)
In the meanwhile work was done on the car,
Engine was also ready to put in the car again
Put the engine back in, but was rebuild shortly
The original hood hinges where a crime to get right and my dad and i loved the look of the ring brother hinges. So we ordered a set of them
After some time we got the car rolling again and time to bring it home and start the last detail work (but there came much more work than we thought).
We orderd a set of 17x7 and 17x8 Boyd coddington magneto wheels for it, we had torq thrusts under it but we saw them to much over here.
Also the interior got some upgrades with a Pony interior and steering wheel, the centre consule and rallye pack i already had.
Also put in the original AM radio and put a modern one in the glovecomparment !

Now we had a healthy engine we also need some handling, so started with a TCP power rack
And for safety a Driveshaft loop
At the moment were working on a TCP coil over conversion for the front and a rebuild 8 inch rear axle with beter gears and limited slip diff.
After all that work it was time to roll the car out for some photos
For the first car show it wasnt ready, so trailer queen it was
There i won best of show and the show after that it was almost finished i won another best of show ! Then the car got in the storage again for winter, wich is the present time.
