I've searched but can't find the answer ...

I have moved up to the Northeast. A friend of mine is offering me some 2005Ford Mustang V6 OEM rims with a snow tires (Michelin X-Ice P215/65 R 16).

Will these work on my 2001 GT??
(any other thoughts or comments are welcomed, too)

Before considering, keep in mind that these tires are a fair bit taller than your current ones (nearly an inch and a half). I see that you've got lowering springs on your car....you'll most certainly having rubbing issues as well. The Offset is different between the SN95 wheels (30mm) and the S197 wheels (45mm).

If you can get them for nothing and try them on before taking them, go for it. Otherwise pass and wait till you find the right wheel and tire combo to suit your needs. :)

I haven't tried the v6 wheels, but I have tried the 17x8 GT wheels. The offset is about 3/4" tucked in compared to SN95 wheels. You can expect the wheel to rub on the struts in the front without spacers. I would expect the 16*8 v6 wheels to be very similar if not identical.

Just as Gearbanger said, the tires are much taller and would almost certainly rub. Look around and you can buy 94-04 V6 wheels for dirt cheap.

Personally I would not use these wheels as they are not the
correct offset and they are a good bit taller.Using these wheels
without spacers aspecially on a lowered mustang is asking for
rubbing/clearance issues. These wheels are meant to be used on
a 05+ mustangs for a reason. You could try using spacers though.
What Eibach springs are you using on your mustang?
