Hey everyone. Havent really been around latley. But Ive been busy with work and my car.

About a month ago, I decided Im going to put togeather a Custom Vortech Build. Using a Front Mount Intercooler, my own choices of MAF, Fuel Injectors, Fuel Pump and other stuff.

So heres how it started.

Superchargersonline.com sells complete assembly's. Bracket Assembly, Air Intake Assembly, Discharge Assembly, Oil Feed/Drain and more stuff to use. Pretty cheap too. But since Im going with a Front Mount Intercooler setup, I dont need a Discharge Assembly. So here we go:

- Vortech V1 Head Unit $325 (eBay) (STEAL) Great condition, low miles.

- Front Mount Intercooler $200 (member from SVTPerformance.com) (STEAL Again)

Also comes with the Air Intake Assembly (Saves $215) and 2 Bosch Bypass Valve setup.

- Bracket Assembly $165 (Member from AllFordMustangs.com)

Im debating weather or not to buy this. Ill need a 3.33 pulley, I can buy one used for like $40 or brand new for $80 from Superchargersonline.com. And I need the radiator hose connectier piece. Which I can also buy from superchargersonline for a rediculous $23 or just buy a piece of metal from Lowes. The Bracket from the site with pulley is $305 shipped. Id save about $120 buying this used even after the pulley.

Thats all the stuff I have ordered. Besides the Bracket, thats pending.

Heres all the other stuff Im buying, everything is hot linked:

Oil Feed Line - $22
Oil Drain Line - $23
PMAS Blow Through MAF - $265
Ford Racing 42# Fuel Injectors - $269
Ford GT Supercar Fuel Pump - $169.95 - Install Guide For Ford GT Fuel Pump
Kenne Bell Boost a Pump - $249

Now if you dont want to do an intercooler, you can buy the Discharge Assembly here: DISCHARGE ASSEMBLY

Before I found this used intercooler, I was going to buy this:
CX Racing Intercooler w/ plumbing and BOV
You could also use a 255lph Fuel Pump instead, and you could go with a 90mm Lightning MAF aswell to stay more in the budget.

As far as gauges go, Im going with an Instrument Cluster Dual Pod, with a Autometer Phantom Boost/Vacuum Gauge, and Air Fuel Ratio Wideband Gauge.

Af anyone has any questions feel free. Ill be updating this as I go along.

Always search sites like, ModdedMustangs.com, Corrall, SVTPerformance, eBay, Craigslist, Mustang Forums etc....So far Ive bought a Head Unit, Front Mount Intercooler, and Intake assembly for $525. If I bought that stuff from a site, Id be looking at $400 for the intercooler, $800 for a headunit, and $215 for the intake. Thats $1,415 compared to $525. Almost $1,000 in savings right there.

I pieced the kit for my 95 together, too. At the time, I was on track, to save probably $5-600 versus buying a complete kit, but then Vortech dropped the price on the V2 kits, to make way for the new V3 head units. I think I saved $50 and had more aggrivation than buying a new one. :bang: It looks like you have a pretty good setup going.

I might have a 3.33" pulley that is new, I will check for you tomorrow. I will be running a CXRacing intercooler on my setup and I am hoping that it will suit my needs; mostly positive reviews when reading online about them.

I'm glad to see I am not the only one that jumps site to site looking for steals :nice: You'll also be able to find a BAP/injectors on ebay for cheap if you hunt long enough

Oh sweet, let me know Ill definatley buy it from you. Whats the stock pulley btw? is it like 3.4?

And BAP would be nice for cheap money, but fuel injectors Im definatley just buying new to be on the safe side.

If you were to buy the mounting kit in your last pic you should know that the kit does NOT have the correct pulleys shown. One should be a smooth idler and the other a small ribbed one. I know because I went through the anguish of putting a vortech together my self.

Wow cool thank you. F it then, Ill just buy it brand new. Less of a headache. Thanks man.

Thanks man. Nope, the head unit only has 1k-2k miles on it. The impeller is in great shape, and the shaft doesnt have any play in it (lol). So I should be good.

Im trying to sell my Diablo Tuner so I can buy a new Bracket Assembly. Ill need to buy a SCT anyways because my tuner only uses SCT. And a K&N FIPK CAI and my 70mm TB as Ill need a 75mm TB.

Cool thanks again man. You definatley just saved me a headache for sure lol. Im sure Ill PM you within the weeks to ask you a few questions.

Accually one right now, whats the stock pulley? I want to make like 10lbs at like 5800. I have a front mount intercooler, so what size do you think?
