do you have any more pics of the radiator support mods without the radiator mounted? I'm interested in possibly doing this mod myself. I'd like to squeeze a Mark VII in there. What size radiator are you running (height x length)?

28" x 16.5"

I don't have any good pictures of what I did. I was real simple, just cutout the support that held the radiator.

They aren't toooo bad to do.

Just remember a couple things (imho)
- forget all that equal length crap, the 1-2% that you lose is NOT worth the headache :nonono:
- tack welds are your friend... they are easy to dust off and re-do if it doesn't fit quite right :nice:
- dont forget once the pipes are run side by side and welded to the flange, you're not gonna be able to get inbetween them to finish that one beed you "left till later"...

Also a trick that I absolutely love (if you use 3 bolt flanges at the reducer/collector):

Use a double flange (two welded together) on the reducer and weld them on so that the entire first half of the flange sticks out above the top edge of the reducer. (about 3/16 - 1/4 inch)

Then when you weld the flange on the collector (the up stream side) slide it up about an 1/8 of an inch onto the collector. (so that about an 1/8 inch of collector is sticking out beyond the downstream side of the flange) The gasket will basically hang on this 1/8 of pipe, when youre bolting the collector flange to the reducer flange.

Now when you bolt em together, the gasket is protected from blowing out, by the little bit of collector that runs inside it, and the double flange on the reducer basically forms a "female" socket for it to fit into.

Blow-proof 3 bolt flange gaskets... :nice:

( after their all done, find a local coating place and have em' throw a coat of ceramic on em'. They look bitchin and the best part is, when guy at the shows/meets ask where ya got em' you can tell em you made em... all matter of fact like, as if everybody does it. :rlaugh: )

Thanks for the advice, tubes are in and I'll start this weekend. Curious on the collector you describe. Any way you can post a picture?

Here is a diagram I found, forgot what forum I found it on.

I haven't bought all the fittings and hoses yet, so I can't comment on that.

I am using the stock pedal and assembly. I had to shorten the rod on the hydroboost by .5 or .75...I can't remember. I recommend measuring yourself if you go down this path. I used the stock mounting plate on the hydroboost, just drilled new holes for the studs and it slipped right in. I had to modify my cable clutch firewall support bracket, but that was no big deal.

I plan on using a KRC setup.

KRC Home Page

Here is their kit for a 302, but the 351w setup is very similar. Their steering pump allows different fittings for pressure so you can adjust some feel.

Awesome build, love it! That engine is gonna tear up the asphalt! :nice:

I'm running a KRC/Hydraboost combo; I got an extra -6AN bung welded onto my PS resorvair. That way the "T" is eliminated, as it isn't an optimal solution.
Can't see the extra bung on this pic, but you can see the return line comming up from the rack. The 3 other lines on the sidewall/shocktower is from the top: Hydraboost return line, pump to hydraboost line, and at the bottom is hydraboost to rack 'n' pinion line.

BTW; is there a Ford part number for the Ford Power steering fitting seals? My brother needs a pair for his XV Level 2 suspension 'Cuda project, which uses an '05 Mustang rack. Can't get those here in europe :(

Did you have to grind on the motor mounts or dart sportsman block at all to get them to fit? I have the same setup im trying to put in a 91 stang and the mounts arent close to bolting up to the sportsman block??? Thanks.

Sure did.

A. The mounts simply didn't fit a Dart block.
B. The mounts were too high.
C. I didn't like the placement between the shock towers.

I modified the mounts so much, you might as well make your own.

I was very disappointed with the AJE stuff. You figure a drag racing company that makes K members would design mounts to fit a Dart block right????

You would think. I have called them and they were supposed to call me back yesterday but of course no call (and the guy is out of the office today). I thought about grinding on the mounts but the design of the mounts really do not make it possible to do that to make them fit. I dont have the tools/capability to make my own mounts here so I am at a loss at what I am going to do????
