Hi all..been a while since ive been here. im in need of some help.. i am currently fighting with the insurance company on my 77 mustang cobra IIv8.. fully restored.. the problem .. the car was deemed totalled by the insurance company because of the parts availability.. i was in a f.end collision, a young girl on her phone had pulled out into the main road i was travelling at 30 mph on.. and the II sustained a full frontal impact..:(.. although she was found 100% at fault.. the money to repair the II that the insurance co. is trying to offer me would not come close to fixing the car..5k..
NADA and KBB stated the cobra II in excellent condition is $8500.. unfortunately the insurance companys dont generally go by this when it comes to an antique and /or classic.. instead they have a general ins. database on what they have paid out on totalled mustangIIs, and also local and national sales coming from newspapers, craigslist, and ebay..go figure! ive owned the car for 15 yrs and the old appraisal did not include the total restoration within the last 4 yrs.. Heres where i need your help!
I am looking for any information you might have pertaining to the value of a mustang cobra II.. or any mustang II above $3000.. any sales from craigslist, ebay, or your local newspaper would help..in its original state or totally modified.. Specifically i am in need of appraisals if you have one for your II..
I am not looking for private info as in your name and address.. but rather the state you live in, a description of your car.. such as mods, paint, and so on.. An appraisal or anything that states the value of your II.. or just want to give a reasonable figure.. i would like to use it as strictly reference.. If you dont feel comfy posting it here you can P.M. me or send me an e-mail with a link to [email protected] ... Basically as im told, all i need to do is show the judge as many mustang IIs currently for sale or appraised to show the value of my car.. along with my reciepts.. it would be a great help.. and benefit for II owners.. considering the insurance co. will have to enter that settled figure into thier database..
so that if this ever happens to you.. i will be another # above the value of the IIs that are stored in thier database.. if you have any questions before you post something your not sure of.. just ask me privately..thank you in advance.. look forward to hearing from you ..

You should carry a collectors car insurance on any car older than 25 years. I use Haverty's. I think I pay about $200 a year for 10 grand in coverage. They basically do an apprasal of the car before they insure it and if you total it out they pay you up to 10 grand to fix it.

I use Hagerty as well I have the car insured for 15K agreed value policy. I stated what the car was worth and they didn't even bat an eyelash after the pictures i sent them.

Good luck Brother! I hope thinks work out your way!

I don't have access to any MII appraisals, so I don't know if this will be of any help...

eBay will let you look at completed auto auctions if you register:
http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Cars-Tr...ars_Trucks&_mqf=0&_myi=1974-78&_qfkw=1&_tab=4

There are a few there in the $8-9K range.

You need to get prices from Hemmings (Hemmings Motor News: Cars for Sale - Ford Mustang II), Old Car Trader (Old Car Trader.com now OldCarOnline.com | Classic Cars, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, For Sale Classifieds and Sell Classic Cars), NADA (New Car Prices, Used Car Values, New Car Reviews & Car Buying Guides - NADAguides.com Official Site), and others to establish a price range.

NADA should be the most valuable because it's an established value guide. For example the upper range in NADA for a '74 Mach I is above $9K. You just have to establish that your car was at the upper level.

Do you have any before and after pics you could post?

Hope that things work out.

thanks to everyone so far.. it has helped quite a bit as i collect values..i hope the pics comes throu.. its the only one i could find from my phone ..i will send another detailed pic soon..
