I found a triple black vert 5speed forsale.
It has 118k, mostly stock except for welded-in flows.
The owner is a mechanic and has done a tune up on it. I'm assuming plugs, wires, air filter and a fuel filter.

Heres are the known issues by looking at the pics and talking to him:
The car COULD use a new corner lense on passenger, shifter bezel with boot, junkyard front drivers fender because of a dent above front bumper in fender, drivers seat recovered, TOB is squeling on cold startup and the vert top is in good shape aside from a few issues. It looks like the front seal for the top needs replace above the windshield and there is a wrinkle in the top on the drivers side by the rear quarter glass. Passenger quarter panel has a softball size dent that might can be popped out some I cant tell. Its about half a foot above the side vent. Paint is decent for age.

The owner is asking $4800, what do you guys think its worth?

yeah I've looked in the for-sale section. I am trying to find someone that wants my 98 firebird formula for there stang plus a little cash. I have owned 3 94-95's, 98 cobra and a 03 cobra. I just want to get back in a mustang and dont really plan on going to the drag strip. I'm looking for a nice cruiser for weekends.

My guess would be under 4k.

I couldn't bring myself to buy that car for anything more than 3 for myself personally but then again if its well maintained it might be worth 4.

I bought my car with less problems for 1800 and close to 90k original miles.

Seems like a lot to me considering the condition. This coming from a guy that paid $8k for my 95 vert. But it's pristine, 58k miles when I bought it, looks and runs like new. And it's in AK, where the market's a little screwy.

Body work's spendy, and when you're done, you've got--an average car. I'd keep looking. There's got to be better deals out there.

AL has pricey mustangs to and always have. I'm going to look/trade today so we'll see what happens. My car now is good mechanical condtion but needs body work in a couple of spots. The dents in the mustang should pull out.

You need a sig. No one know any details on what car you have 88.

I bought my vert for $4200 4 years ago. I wouldn't pay over $3900 for it. Better yet, find one with some mods for the same or less.

I looked at the car today, what a waste of time. I drove about 75miles 1 way to trade the guy and it need more work than he had mentioned. I need to vent so here are the details.

-The big problem to me was the vert top frame where it makes the first bend in the middle of the front 2 side windows was bowed on the drivers side. There are 2 bolts that are suppose to be there and 1 was missing from each side but the drivers side was bowed and not the passenger. The top was replaced in mid 08 but I was afraid something fell on it and bent the frame.
-old stereo wires everywhere and the back the curtain for the top was missing so you could see all that crap back there.
-abs light came on while driving
-TOB was making noise the whole time unless you rested your foot on the clutch pedal.
-quarter panel had some creased dent in 2 spots that would have to have body work to repair and it pisses me off because he didnt mention it.
-drivers door panel had wood screw holding it on
-back quarter windows needed some help to get them back up.
-all the windows had air gaps from the top problems
ALL of these problems were not mentioned before when I asked a lot of ?'s about the car. Why do people have to be so damn shady!

The answer to that question i believe is they are hoping since you made the trip to see the car you would just take the loss and get it anyways.

And as far as me not having a sig it's just because i havn't felt like creating one.

I hear you. First, yes you are right..he should have mentioned all that. But we need to realize that these cars are old. They are all going to have problems unless the stuff gets replaced - by age, use or damage.

-abs light came on while driving - At least he left the bulb in..the guy that sold me my stang pulled the bulb so I wouldn't know it was faulty. I expected the antilock to kick in during my accident...it didn't.

-TOB was making noise the whole time unless you rested your foot on the clutch pedal. - Whats a TOB?
-quarter panel had some creased dent in 2 spots that would have to have body work to repair and it pisses me off because he didnt mention it. That sucks.
-drivers door panel had wood screw holding it on
-back quarter windows needed some help to get them back up. - This is a given on these cars. Mine needed repair too.
-all the windows had air gaps from the top problems

Keep looking. But realize a clean one is getting hard to find.

I understand the car is old and I have had a 94 GT,95 GTVert,98 Cobra and a 03 Cobra.
TOB is throwout bearing lol I think thats how we used to list it on here. Its been awhile.
This guy drove 2.5hrs to meet me and I drove 1.5hr. Seems to me if he really wanted to make use of his time he would have stated the problems or fixing them if he is really a mechanic as he claims.

Yep. I agree.

"And as far as me not having a sig it's just because i havn't felt like creating one."

Yea, but it makes it easier for the rest of us to relate or understand your points sometimes in general. :)
