I'm thinking of buying a long rod 331... I hear good things about htis guy, how much is it usually, etc..

I've never had him do work for me, but Killrb had his 302 built by Bliss and it was about $1500, including balancing, for the short block. That should give you a ball park number. Just give him a call. He's a one man operation. He has a great reputation.

Dave does all Brad's Custom Auto's motors.
Blood Ent & Ford Powertrain Applications have Dave doing the balance work for them.
Dave also does all the engines for AD Performance.
One walk around the Mustang Round Up on Sunday and you got to see a bunch of Dave's work.

Dave Bliss built my 302 and N2OJnky's 408. He has a great reputation, but can seem really weird when dealing with him. Talk politics or bad checks and he will go on for hours and hours blabbing about the topic. Otherwise, don't expect to eat milk and cookies talking about life and love...........ain't gonna happen!!! He builds motors first, socializes second so don't be shocked if he seems like an ass. The work he does is great so it makes up for his lack of personality.

I'd go there again any time.

Another satisfied Bliss customer. Tell him you vote Republican, drink Budweiser, your'e not in a hurry and you will be paying in cash.

Have your motor internally balanced while you are at it. :nice:

actually, it was my intake manifold gasket. I guess fel-pro 1250's don't hold onto aluminum heads very well, they squirm around a lot. so the part of the gasket that goes in between the coolant passages and the #1,4 cylinders got sucked into the runners, man they were full of coolant. lol I had antifreeze in my header/X-pipe! I did the headgaskets anyways because the plugs were pretty cruddy and I wanted to make sure everything was o.k. back on the road by lunch tomorrow. :nice:
