This morning was the first time I saw a 2010-up Mustang in the dark. From about 1/8 mile away, the tail light configuration made it look a LOT like a 94-98 Mustang due to the rounded top outer "edges" of the brake light silhouette when it lit up. I thought it was a 94-98 until I got up close and realized it was a 2010. I definitely like the 05-09 tail lamps more than the 2010-up.

I actually like how from far away you can see the three tail lights and you know its a mustang. On the 05-09 you can't tell that its a mustang until up close.
The 05-09 always looked like a Mustang from far away. There was no confusion, just like 94-98, 99-04, etc... except the 10-up looks like a 96-98 from afar in the dark IMHO.
I also saw a black 2010 GT that was dirtied from salt. I thought it was a 05-09 at first. They really didn't do much to the sides at all.

Theres no controversy, except with those that currently own 05-09's. The rest of us love the new style. Personally I cant stand the 05-09, they look too cheaply built.
That may be true, but the 2011 V6 will hang right along side a 05-10 GT and for a lower price.
The 2011 V6 is probably going to be slightly slower due to the reduced torque. I do like the 3.7 though, especially when it was first used in the 2008 Mazda CX-9. I've been saying that Ford needed to ditch that puny 4.0 for awhile, even the 3.5L would have sufficed. They said the 3.5/3.7 family is capable of well over 300 hp naturally aspirated!
I don't like the modular engines though, and wouldn't mind upgrading to the 2011 GT if the price were lower. The 5.0 looks like a nice engine but I'd let people beta test it for 2-3 years first.

In the C&D article on the 5.0 engine, it said Ford skipped a full 12 month prototype phase to fast track this engine. I don't know about you, but Ford doesn't exactly have the best history of making awesome products during the initial roll out, especially if they skipped a full year of testing. Modeling and simulation is great for proving out the design, but the manufacturing phase is quite a different beast - you have to make sure all of your suppliers are making products that are up to snuff. I'd definitely wait about 3-4 MY's before buying a 5.0 powered GT. The 05-08 4.6 3V had spark plugs that would break apart. It took Ford roughly 3-4 years to release new cylinder heads with the new spark plug design - and that's on a design that was already 3 years old in 2004 (so basically they got a fix about 6 years after the initial release).
