How much money have you put down on your stang?

Let's see... on the 88, I recently cracked the block at the track. I bought a used short block for 150$, a head gasket for $8.99 and I still need to buy oil and coolant. So let's say for under 200$, I can get it rolling again. :rlaugh:

I would be totally screwed if I couldn't do my own work and diagnosis on my cars. The 97 has actually cost me quite a bit on repairs, however the engine has been flawless (*knocks on wood). I had some issues with the shift forks and had to pay someone else to replace them after pulling the tranny myself. That was quite expensive. The other major cost was the pinion bearing on the rear end. It was a huge PITA to remove the rear end and cost quite a bit to fix it. Otherwise, it has been all relatively small costs for normal wear items... brake pads, tires, struts/shocks, fan motor, wheel bearings, AC parts, ect.

Overeall, I've been very happy with the 97. It is a great daily driver and I always enjoy driving it. However, I'm still pissed that I can't fix the AC correctly. I could rant for a whole page on that.

For the 88, I've had for more than 10 years and spent quite a bit of money, but it is all relatively small costs. I can honestly say that the most expensive single part on that car are the nitto drag radials, at 150$ each. I did pretty much all the work on my own... rebuilt several engines, rebuilt the transmission, ported the head/intake/exhaust... everything.

saving up for a vortech v-3 si-trim in the near future.... so atleast 3700 more :D

between 3 2v's, 3 pi swaps(2 full), a bunch of yunkyard motors, svo head swap, svo blower, rear ends, clutches, gears, springs, shocks/struts, interior, wheels, tires, wrecks, labor, etc., I am probably looking at 40-50k over 8-10 years(excluding the cost of the cars)

I have only had the car for 3 months Cold air intake $150, $400 for 2 rear tires, Eibach lowering springs $150, 3:73 gears $150,$600 for a Vortech S-trim supercharger, $700 for a nitrous plate kit about $900 in a pi swap not installed trying to sell it. So in all about $3050 more to come im sure

After shopping in the Maximum Motorsports catalog with a little from JLT and MGW I'm into the car for $4,107 since I bought it in 05'.

I'm looking at another $2K-$3K this Spring with a Bassani exhaust and MM K-Member and tubular control arms.

I keep it all in a spreadsheet.

Somewhere near the 3k range I would assume by now. I had a running total but haven't updated in a while.

Not much to show for, either. But whatever... it's a "long term" car and if I have my way with it, I will not sell it and will just tear it down/rebuild one day in the future. Hopefully...
