95 mustang gt 5.0 vs. the 2000ish mustang gt body style. I like both body styles. Which year would be the best, for supercharger on a stock motor with the biggest hp gains. I just want a stock mustang with a supercharger. I want to keep it simple without adding tons of bolts ons. Which one should go with.

important features (I need)
ABS
Fuel mileage
Reliable
Need to pass emissions
Daily driven

I don't see a reason not to get a '99-'04 with the PI motor. You can slap a KB on top and easily put down 400-450HP... wouldn't want to push it any higher than that in a stock 4.6. I don't know how much a 5.0 block can handle though... probably at least that much. Whatever it is make sure it's tuned well of course and it should be fine at sane power levels.

the 5.0 block will hold about 500 rwhp before it splits in half.

the 4.6 will handles around 450 before rods/pistons start breaking

IMO the 4.6 from the 99-04 would be the best bet. you can make 400rwhp for around 4K plus the cost of the car.

the 5.0's also have cooling issues with big power.

Am i missing something here?

The 4.0 wasnt put in the mustang until 05 so??????Also, it is a crapshoot for a 5.0 or 4.6 at anything above 450hp! There are no cooling issues on 5.0s with big power than there are with 5.0s with low power!

He was talking about the special edition 4.0 V10 the was put in a few 2001 1/2.5 Mustangs , get with the program , and you call yourself a mustang guy !

I have owned 5 Foxbody cars including 1 sn95. Just picked up an 03 GT about 2 months ago. As far as gas mileage, reliability, and comfort, go with the 99-04 body style! If I had to drive my 03 GT as a daily driver I would have no problems with that because, I can achieve at least 23mpg and it is pretty comfortable for a muscle car lol. I also had a vortec blower on my 1990 GT and it was putting down 330 to the wheels. I have seen many 99-04 supercharged applications putting down over 400 to the wheels easily and safely.

4 then 6 now its 5 with the foxbody , you still cant keep track of your B **** , BTW 03 is also an SN95 :nonono: !

are you saying the 03-04 heads are better, less likely to blow out a spark plug? I was comparing superchargers year vs. year. can someone give me a quick comparison of procharger vs. vortch? it seems like procharger is offering a max psi of 12 vs 10psig. Do they both come with a chip?

i believe procharger and vortech can both get up to atleast 20psi, and it depends on which kit you buy, if you get the complete kit it comes with a chip

your best bet is one of the mongoose kits from modular powerhouse. As far as which is better its a toss-up...some people prefer vortech (me) and some prefer procharger...

You can make up to 550-600ish rwhp with an sq trim and supporting mods (ported heads, blower cams and 20# psi with full bolt-ons and maybe a meth kit and or intercooler). Plus the great thing about vortech is you can send your sq trim back to vortech along with 600$ and they will upgrade it to a T trim which is capable of 8-900rwhp...
