Pulling Tranny 01 Bullitt HELP!

Hey guys me and a friend are pulling out my engine to bring it to a machine shop. Were down to the tranny, took the 5 tranny to engine bolts out, brace off but the transmission will not come out. Any ideas? Am I missing any bolts? I went by a Chiltons book and it says there IS only 5 tranny bolts andto pull the tranny to the rear keeping it level. But it won't budge.

No, don't press the clutch in. The cable should be disconnected and the input shaft should just slide right out of the clutch disk. You may have to pry on the bell housing against the block a bit to break the corrosion. Maybe try some pb blaster or another product...

I'm not sure on the number of bolts... but there are two at the very top that are tough to see and tough to get to. Did you get those?

It is disconnected, I'll hit it with penetrating oil later I have some but havent used it. Are there 2 bolts on top? I did not take any off on top, by the chiltons manual it shows clearly 3 bolts on the drivers side and 2 on the passenger. They are not on top of the tranny though, they were easy to get to. How would I get to these other bolts? I thought there might be more and tried looking but can't seem to even see if there are any

There are two on top. You will need some extensions and a u-joint to get to them. Use a 6pt socket and be carefull, it's easy for the socket to roll off and strip the bolt heads with that much extension and the u-joint. Try using some pb blaster on them first and let it soak for a few hours before trying to get them out.

thanks for the help guys! got it outt. i lowered the back end of the tranny and used about 2 feet of extensions.. cake! now i just need to pull the engine. think im definately going to have the tranny attached and put them both back in at the same time. def be easier... Do you guys know an estimated cost at the machine shop? I'm not sure exactly whats wrong but it has rod knock, it did still run all the way home. just pretty loud
