I've got a whining noise when my clutch is engaged (when I'm not pushing on it) and someone told me it could be some bearing that needs adjusting. Any ideas what they were talking about?

TOB (throw out bearing) Mine is doing the same right now too. Bout to get it fixed this weekend I hope. Replacing whole clutch assembly and maybe a quadrant kit/cable

if its a chirp, then there is about no doubt in my mind its a throw out bearing

Doing it yourself about 130 for the cheapest clutch assembly, but if your gonna pay a shop your looking at at least $400 probably. IM not gonna lie if your doing it yourself its a major pain. For me anyway got a 94 Gt and cant get the bellhousing off. There is 2 bolts on top that I cant get to and its raining outside on top of that. Got to go get some longer wrenches and hope for the best. G/L

Its a lot easier if you remove the tranny from the bellhousing before trying to remove the bellhousing.

The prob is just getting to the 2 bolts on top of the bellhousing. Its rained all day as it does here in Ga so I didnt get it done today.

Drop the trans mount... and lower the tail end down then they will be looking you in the face...

Thats how its sitting now, but still not much room to get to them,pretty much under windshield/firewall, should I pull jack oout from under tranny? its pretty low, scared motor will drop and pull everything out and just screw it all up in general

Universal on 2 10'' extensions. i let mine sit on the ground to do it... it just depends on how high your car is up...
But to the op its your TOB.... and this info will help you if you go to replace it yourself

So if I let tail sit on ground The bellhousing will drop so I can get the top bolts? Would I need jack under oil pan as tail sits?

Didnt jack motor? Will engine not fall when tranny is off? lol..........Mine is a lil bit lower, but the highest I can get it.

not unless you dont have motor mounts.
if you feel safer put a block of wood between your firewall and engine...
