i highly recommend it!:nice:

went from ford racing shorties [they were on the car when i bought it]
to kooks long tubes with catted x.

install was really straight forward, and between the sound and performance gain, it was more then worth it.

i had them on the car within 3 1/2 - 4 hours. and of course thats with taking a small break to start it open headers.

i lost a little bit of low end grunt, but its very minimal, and it made up for it with the now added power up high, that goes so well with the vct.

i've gotten several stares when driving around town going thru shoping developments and such, but i think they are mainly just a thumbs up kind of stare. if not oh well, i enjoy how it sounds :D

posted a video yest, i'm trying to get a fly by vid. possibly a good one from my laptop.

it def got louder, but at the same time, in parts where it was loud before, its quieter.

before on the highway doing like 65 or so it would drone horribly. now the drone is down lower, at an rpm i'm basically never at. hahah.

i'd say my cars comparable to a car running long tubes, with no cats, with a chambered muffler.

but my axle back is just a straight pipe for the most part. so any actual muffler should be a little bit more quiet.

Excellent news.....congrats on the quick install. I hope my install goes that smooth. I am doing it Saturday. Got any tips you care to share? I am doing it at my warehouse in case it takes two days. I dont want to block my driveway and would rather be inside than in the hot sun.

How much actual rwhp would you gain from longtubes? Assuming you have no other major mods?

no major power adders. dunno an actual number, but i feel an increase in power on my butt-dyno.

as for the install viper, i'd unbolt both motor mounts, unbolt starter, unbolt steering shaft, jack up motor. should be easy as hell to get old ones out after that. then put bottom bolts on both sides, and slide header into place. go up top and do top bolts after putting header gasket on, and then go down and do bottom bolts, then when you go back up top to do motor mounts and all, go over the top ones again.

its really straight forward, just need to know what you need to get out of your way to make it happen.

the gained top end is pretty insane, its not like a blower, but for how efficient the stock exhaust is on these cars, i didn't expect anywhere near this type of gain.

Yeah the top end relay comes alive after LTs. I remember shortly after I installed mine I had to keep looking down at the shifter and remind myself what gear I was in because 4th was now pulling harder than 3rd used to.

Very good advice......now that I am done. LOL So funny how after the fact you realize how much time you wasted doing stuff twice! LOL

I will post another thread the whole story and video, dont want to hor this one up.

yeah, first times always a learning curve. even when you've done the job before on different applications, doing it on a new platform is just like hm. wtf, dont think i ever had to do that before. haha

forgot how easy these cars are to work on. just went to look at something i need to fix on my bmw today and i was astounded by the fact i didn't even see what i broke. can kinda tell by the sound i'm getting and looks its gunna be

remove = everything!
