I bought a used 91 302, with 70,000 miles, put it in my 88 gt, did the mass-air upgrade, it runs good, just stock pretty much, getting ready to hot rod it a bit.

on my injectors it has # 3533 on them, they are silver on the bottom, black on the top, and a blue ring, around them right above the plug-in on the injector, I thought all stock were 19 lbs ( could'nt see ford on them, they are installed on the running eng, kinda hard to see )

can anyone help me decide what lbs injectors I have , they came with engine, so I dont know for sure. :flag::flag:

injectors

I did find a couple more #'s, they seem to differ from inj. to inj. one is "01D0628B , and another is, 01570BA. but I saw no name brand on them, I'll just figure 19's, because it's totally stock. the blue ring around it threw me off a little

Thank you Rick

injectors

jus to let every one know, I've got some pics , but they are too big, I'm dealing with Kodak online even as I type now. lol, to try an get them shrunk down a little ,so I can post them up, Thanxs for all your help so far, Rick:flag::flag::flag:

They are Delphi injectors. The actual number is D1570BA. You had a ZERO in place of the D.

Info on the injector is here...

: Powertech Performance : INJECTORS D20LB

BTW, I use Corvette 25 pounders in my car. As long as they're high impedence you can use them.

injectors

Ok, Great sounds good, thanxs for the link, so do you guys think they will be ok for my little hopping up.

my plan so far, TF 190cc fast as cast heads, TF street upper/lower, 1" spacer if it will fit under stock hood, or swap out for 3/8 spacer, not sure on valve train yet.
bbk 75 mm TB, 76? 3.25" maf. a9l computer.
not sure on cam ,mayby custom, mayby stock.
bbk 1 3/4" long tubes, I know kinda big, but were very cheap.
bassani catless x-pipe.
not sure on cat back or dumps, WANNA hear the radio still, lol
alum flywheel, frpp alum driveshaft, and a king cobra clutch kit
and its a 5-speed, with a 3:27 gear in it now, max motorsports lca, sub-frames tied.

if these injectors will work for this app, I just want to do so much at a time, that way I can get done, and still drive the car. not wanting a snowball 427w stroker, that will take 2 yr to get it back on the road, but do this , maby with a good bought chip for a tune? if thats possible, and drive it till I get bored or build up the fun fund a little again.

then I would like to super charge it, mayby upgrade fuel system then, if its ok for "Now" . and mayby a new tranny same time as the charger.

looking for opinions, advise, if what I have, and my plans are on the right course??. and I wouldn't mind at all, if I didnt have to pull the cam again, for the charger install, so I dont know if a custom, now, or just leave the stock for now, till I charge it.

Thank you guys for all the help. Rick :flag: :flag:  :rlaugh: :rlaugh: :nice:

injectors

yes, I was thinking of 24's , or maybe 30-36lb. thats another thing , will I need to change twice, for now, then the charger later, if it is , thats fine, just want to figure it out, and do it right, the first time, Thanxs for the info Stang.

do you guys ,know if the stock cam would be ok for the first upgrades, and are the parts I picked out so far, are they a pretty good combo so far, any thoughts or advice on combo, would be greatly appriciated. I'm not hard headed, LOL, WELL sometimes, but not here, and will listen to the pros, if they pony up some good advice, Thanxs Rick  :hail2: :hail2: :hail2: :rlaugh: :rlaugh:

There are others that know way more about supercharged apps than I do. I would do all of the internal work now while you've got it apart. Put the correct cam in for a supercharger now. The injectors can be left at 24's because they're easy enough to change out later. If you go with a big enough injector to work well with a supercharger you would probably have to get a custom tune done to de-tune the injectors so they will work right (A/F ratio) without the supercharger. A custom tune would probably cost more (with a chip and dyno time included) than a new set of injectors. Save the custom tune for when you install the supercharger.

combo now and supercharged

that makes perfect sense, all I would have to do is pull the upper only later, to upgrade the injectors, good call, the extra dollars would be better spent some where else, I know how expensive tuning/dyno time is. I had an 03 cobra, Tim @ Modular Powerhouse, in canton Ga. did a K.B. 2.4 supercharger for me, and got it 571/581 rwhp/ torque, on the street tune, and 599 rwhp on the race gas tune, and it wasn't cheap. he runs a great shop, and great customer service. with a 4:10 gear, wasn't to much ,on the street that would touch it. about 13,000 in upgrades all together.

so I would need to contact a cam guy, to pick out the proper cam, and do it once, I dont know anything about cams, but I would also need to make sure my heads were set up, with the proper springs also, I assume. I'm getting them from woody at Ford Strokers, he said just let him know, and he will set them up good for me.

we had 60lb in the cobra, just guessing here, 24 lb's would be good to about 400- 425 fwhp? any sugestions on brand of injectors, for the first set of up-grades? and do you think I can buy a chip to plug into my A9L computer, for the first set of upgrades? or would I just not need one?

Thanxs for your time, and advice Stang, Rick :flag:  :D

I would go 30's on that power level. I've burned through expensive Weisco piston's simply because I couldn't get enough gas in the engine. I tend to be generous with fuel now.

Whether you need a chip or not depends on the MAF and whether you want to get the max power out of the combo. Max power calls for a chip. If you're good with taking your chances then just get a calibrated MAF and call it a day.

MAF

I'm not so sure how lucky I am,lol, I would rather be safe then sorry, just the heads are pretty high dollar for me, and would like to be able to use them on a bigger cube inch eng, possibly, in the future ,if it works out , not saying this combo would make 400-425 fwhp, but I seem to agree , so 30's it will be.

and I would like to get the custom chip, prefer a "plug an play" , that way we dont have to get into the custom tune/dyno stuff yet.

I still need to talk to a cam guy, are they here, the same guys as on corral, that Jay fellow is highly recommended on corral??

I do have a 373 gear I could have put in the car, but now with the 327 gear, 5-speed, the car won't barely hit 20 mph in first, seems very short, it is not a track car, probably never take it to the track. I like more pulling from say 60 to 100, I liked to spank new z-06's in my cobra like that., oh it was fun, but moneys not like that these days.

does anyone know the stock weight of an 03 Cobra, vs a stock 88 gt, no weight reduction, just bone stock? I have a buddy that says the 88 is a decent bit lighter then the 03 , so it won't take as much h.p., to make the 88 as fast. ?? and yes lol, I know this build is no where near the level of the cobra, I've had the car about 10 yrs, and just ready to hop it up a little.

very good info Stang Thanxs Rick
