nitrous or supercharger??

im too lazy right now to explain the pro's and con's but ill direct you to google for that.
my vote is nitrous, ive driven/rode in quite a few sc/turbo cars but i still prefer my car on the bottle.
take a ride in a nitrous car sometime and you'll understand. its a hell of a lot of fun

I've always been a forced induction fan. Turbo V8's can have some serious kick, but you're usually limited with how much boost you can run. Superchargers are good fun too. Never been a fan of the bottle, though cars on the bottle go like raped apes.

When I do a 347 down the road here, it'll probably be supercharged. I just think it's more practical power.

The intercooler is part of the s/c setup..like lines and jets and brackets and the oil is (hopefully) always there and you have to change your oil anyway.
nitrous is cheaper in the short term and it is bang for the buck but for the long term i'd have to say s/c or turbo.
Of course Ive been thinking of ading nitrous first myself - but I keep leaning towards saving that $ to do a turbo set up. My plans change 1,000 x's before I pull the trigger on anything.

Lets say you race and beat a guy in a Camaro, but only by a couple tenths in the 1/4, and you had to spray to do it. It sucks to know, that once that bottle is empty, the guy in the other lane would own your ass every time. With a supercharger or turbo, you get to play all day long, knowing that your car isn't relying on the contents of a 10lb container to be fast. Once that bottle is dry, you have to tuck your tail between your legs and go home.

I'm not saying that nitrous cars aren't fun or cool, but IMHO, a force-fed car is much more impressive than a bottle-fed car.

IMO Supercharger, ive always been a all throttle no bottle kinda guy, or bottles are for babies real men get blown, but it doesn't really matter because i haven't owned a car with either... but ive also done more research on Superchargers then nitrous, because they sound cooler, and i agree with nikwoac, force-fed is more impressive in my book.:nice:

One thing people forget about Nitrous is the bottle has to be at a desired PSI when spraying...like in the area of 950-1000 to have the best hit once the PSI goes down so does the Hit...I have ran alot of nitrous cars there fast dont get me wrong..but you need a bottle warmer..a gauge to make sure its at the right temp...need to get it constantly refilled...it only last maybe 10 full runs at best....My vote is for a supercharger or Turbo....

Really, it's about how you want to use it and what is your budget? Nitrous if the best hp per dollar option period. I have had turbo, SC and nitrous and I prefer nitrous. I can't afford dyno time, and tuners. I also got sick of changing head gaskets but I never tried the MLS gaskets tho, I will be looking into those next time. So really for me it about the green, about $500 will make you go just as fast or faster as about a $5000 setup and tune. My 2 cents =)
