im thinking of buying afr 165cc heads, trick flow stage one cam, street heat intake, new lifters, pushrods, rockers from TRE Performance, got a really good deal on all the above, anyways, will i need to upgrade the fuel pump and injesctors or will the stock set up still work? its just a street runner and still must pass emission tests,,,,,thxs

You do not HAVE to upgrade your fuel system. I ran my TFS topend kit with the stock fuel system for a while till I got the money together. What I did do is get an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and bumped up the lbs a couple. You are going to be on the very edge of what the stock fuel system is capable of but it will work. An upgrade is definately recommended. For me, I checked my plugs and they wern't white and I did take my timing from 14 down to 10 just to be safe.

thxs i ordered a 255 fuel pump and 24lb injectors, next question is how will the stock computer handle this upgrade, i already have a 73 mm maf calibrated for 24lb injectors thxs

Stock computer won't notice the difference. Granted a dynotune would be nice but not necessary. Everything in my sig with no dynotune yet and passes smog better than my moms city beater 92 corola.

thxs, thats what i thought heres the list of everything im thinking about ordering:

competition fuel regulator
fuel pressure gauge that attaches to the regulator
AFR 165cc heads
TFS Stage 1 Cam
Trick Flow street intake TFS
Gasket set with timing cover gasket
TFS pushrods
New aluminum rockers
New timing chain set
New lifters
24 lb. injectors
walbro 255lph fuel pump
new APR head bolts

hoping all of this will give me around 310 RHP, this is what my goal is,the car is a AOD and has 3.73 gears in it , the bottom end is all stock. also just did the 130amp alt uprade and new MSD distibutor, strut bower brace, new battery, new PA Performance battery cables, Will be getting it dynoed and tuned, will post results with graph, but not many places around here in Ohio that i trust except for a company called CRT performance they are VERY REPUTABLE.

im looking at granateli MAF calibrated for the 24lb injectors also

getting good prices on everything from TREperformance.com and shipping is only $40.00 for everything. They are very helpfull people there aand dont push you to buy

I wouldn't of ordered the pushrods yet.
You have to measure for them, and it needs to be precise. This is how everyone screws up the rocker install.
Buy yourself a pushrod measuring tool, it's only like 10 bucks. Pushrods are far from one size fits all, even a thousandth of an inch matters.

In an AOD with a stage one cam, you probably aren't going to get max power.

For the meter, use a PMAS, the biggest you can buy for your application.
Granitelli just rebrands meters.

ok a few more questions, what type and brandd of pushrod lencth tool do you suggest?and is there a better cam i should be looking at? and do you use a solid lifter to measure the pushrod length? thxs i didnt order this stuff yet just my list of things i need am looking to spend around $3200 so if theres a better combo im all ears, still want o be a little over 300 RWHP with the combo even with the AOD.......lol...........thxs alot

As far as emissions legal, that's a tough one. Most here either circumvent the inspection system or plain old don't care.

Going for emissions legal is tough with the cam, even if we say something will pass, it very well may not.

As far as power goes, you have alot working against you, the cam will certainly be milder, you have to run cats, which on a newer car doesn't rob much power, but on an older car they do, then you have an aod.

Consider the TFS kit for a 302, do a little research but i think the kit that comes with the stage 1 cam is emmisions legal. Twisted wedges are on the same level as afr's, but cost less.

ok i decided to get trick flow stage 1 kit,,i dont think i need to upgrade the injectors or pump with this or should I? also can i use a Trick Flow stage 2 cam with these heads cause i can get a new one for a really good price

Yes, upgrade the pump and injectors.
Can you get away without it? Ya, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I'm not sure about piston to valve clearance with the stage II, along with being emissions compliant.
