those guys who think that there is only one kind of car to build and be into? my friends got an ls1 camaro and his **** talking is getting old, his girlfriends no help either, she pretty much orgasms when talking about the camaro. i know its an ls1 and all, but being at work and hearing about chevys/toyotas, it seems like theres no ford fans out there left?

i dont build my car to be faster than everything out there but the side comments get old after a while. thats for sure.

doesent help either, the mustangs making so many odd noises and clicks its really bugging me. then to top it all off my passenger door lock is working intermittently again, and i just replaced it and had it rewired.

i want to build my motor already, im tired of chasing down 20 year old car problems.

So...uh, buy a new mustang. There's a joy about having old mustangs, but they do come with a price. It's pretty simple really, if you're not happy with the car you currently have get a different one. If you can't afford start saving. Keep in mind, there will always be someone faster than you.

yeah i know theres always someone faster. im more so worried about how people always brag about whatever they own or whatever they are into. it seems like its getting rarer and rarer to find someone who likes the imports, domestics, trucks, and can just have a well rounded conversation about modding cars in general. not those who just always circle the conversation back to whatever they own.

i like my car, i drive a 2007 f150 each day, before i had it i drove the mustang for about 2 or 3 weeks, and it was fine. just the little stuff gets old. selling the fox is something i dont think i can do.

Hey, keep the car and get new friends ! Just kidding. I would suggest sifting through whatever problems you car is giving and keep modifying until it makes YOU happy. Because in the end you are the only person you have to please. I've had a "friends" like that from time to time and really does get old, so I know what you mean.

why not just kick him in the head  trust me some think my car is badass some think its a pile of ****, i think its somewhere in between, but driving it around the past few days, its loud, hot, bumpy, and it a bitch to get in and out of, but its like driving an old muscle car woth new car styling and handling, when i want a stang thats effortless to drive i take out the 07 or i drive the dually

shrug it off. A few of my friends own camaros and one is a 10sec track only car. His kid has a built LS1 based truck and Bobby has a '69. It's funny when I'm out with them and I have the only ford. I hear plenty of bulls**t, whatever . They do have nice cars and I could give a crap about the s**t talking and they know it they just love busting my arse since I'm out numbered :D. I will not conform I'm an out cast!!

im gonna sift through the problems i think. i just dont have much faith right now. it sucks too im probably going to have to buck up and buy a ford actuator, the 25 dollar lrs one seems to be the problem. i really hope its not a wiring issue.

Trust me, there's plenty of Ford fans still out there.

This is coming from the guy who was a sport compact fan early on in life. It was a ride in a beautiful 1988 Fox (it was the car of one of my mother's friends) that brought me over from the dark side. A purple on gray GT with louvers, chrome Cobra R's, and a clean engine bay. Man, that thing is sweet.

Sorry, I digress.

When I think about it, that's why a lot of us are probably Ford/Mustang fans. Hell, all car guys can think back and envision that first car that made them decide they wanted to have a V8, a 5 speed, or what have you. There's a reason we drive what we do, why we put the time and the money into what we do. It's for the love of the hobby and it's for the people we can share this hobby with.

I know a few Chevy fanboys (LS1 guys to the bitter end), as well as some Mopar guys. They're all fine and dandy, but Ford guys/gals get it. It's refreshing that a few of my import friends (shocker!) respect my car. I know a guy with a tuned turbo Lexus IS that is in love with my Fox. Sure, I get all sorts of crap because it leaks like crazy, always has something wrong with it, etc, but they still respect it. Yes, the ragging always gets old, but just remind yourself why you drive what you do. Remind yourself why you can't bring yourself to sell the car, and that's why your Fox is better than his Camaro. Get your buddy to at least respect that and I think you'll feel more at ease.

So I say let him and his girlfriend talk all the crap they want to. When it comes down to it, you love your car and he loves his. There's always someone faster, but you can be damn sure there's always someone slower. :nice:

Girlfriends are parrots, they will repeat whatever they are told to and generally dont know anything. As far as beating an ls1 depends on how much money you want to throw at it. As stated already sort out the issues and like what you are driving or get something else. Trash talk is just that ..trash. Just think too...when his girls dumps him for some tool in an Evo you can give him a hard time because his girl will be gobbling ricer knob.

its not that thats all they talk about its just when the subject of fast cars gets brought up his 308/338 hp/tq camaro is the ****. period.

makes me want my h/c/i or small turbo kit for sure. cant do that though till i bite the bullet and buy a 200 dollar ford door lock actuator.

and buy a steering shaft and fix all the other problems.

+1 to that man.

HA! Is that all? My locks haven't worked in years! My passenger side window only rolls down, so I disconnected it. And it's not just the motor, I got another one and tested them both and they worked fine, it's the car that doesn't change polarity (or whatever the techincal term is) on it. No A/C either, I had to take out one of the tubes to accomodate BBK full length headers (I had no money for new motor mounts at that time, that was about 8 years ago). And that's just to name few problems, but overall it's a decent car and I drive it almost daily.

I'm one of those "rare" guys. I like all cars, I'm a huge car ethusiast and a Mustag fan. But if I sense that whoever I'm talking to is so bias about one thing or another, I just let them go and keep my opinions to myself. I know what I know and I'm not gonna try to change anyones mind about anything, But that's just me.

There are a lot of good cars out there...

Sell your car, buy an '11 GT and shut his mouth. Explain to him how "cute" his big ol 5.7L 308rwhp Camaro is in comparison to your newer (and much smaller) 5.0L, 395rwhp GT, then go eat his lunch at the track.....the whole time looking better while doing so. :nice:

mustang phil my window was doing the same thing, it wasnt switching polarity to go back up. new switches and ran a new wire across the car fixed it.

im gonna tackle all these little problems. the locks didnt work forever, but i got them fixed and now i have an alarm so i kinda want them to work. im just going to have to bite the bullet and buy a ford actuator (the stock one on the driver side is working fine) and a steering shaft from mm ( i think thats my clicking), and then take the front control arms out and grease the poly bushings up a ton more. theres also a crazy loud squeak in the rear i want to find, and my ebrake is rattlign all of a sudden. then pull a lower iso in the front and figure out how to make the back stop leaning a half inch to the driver side. then start fixing the front where i rear ended someone, and try to get my dashboard to be solid ( those damn tabs broke where the dash pod mounts to the dashboard)

yeah looking better  or how about this not go out and spend 40k on a new mustang and just build up his car to make 450rwhp and smash on '11 GT's, camaros and whatever else

Man, you have to take anything LS* guys say with a grain of salt. They all have a chip on their shoulder the size of Texas. The next time they give you a hard time about your old "junk" Fox, just ask them how Uncle Sam is treating their brand of choice.

or just ask them how much a set of headers or a cam costs, **** or an intake all that stuff is uber bucks on a LSx
