My 1994 5.0 GT has vibration/shakes at idle and all speeds

Hello all. I have a 1994 GT, it vibrates/shakes at all speeds even at idle.
It feels like its coming from the rearend are but at the same time it feels like the motor is not balanced. Any one have this issue before.

it's the harmonic balancer
stop driving it till you get it replaced!!! bad things can happen

Although the harmonic balancer is the likely possibility, it's possible the driveshaft could cause this.

couple of ways
With motor running- look at HB and see wobbling (how I found mine)

With motor off- from the ground looking up, look for rubber squeezing out of HB on the oil pan side

With motor off- verify timing. #1 on tdc, make sure timing pointer is pointing at 10*btdc (or what ever you have base timing set to.

You may only have 1 sign or all of them.

couldn't be the driveshaft as he said it also shakes/vibrates @ idle.

definently sounds like the harmonic balancer. also look for destroyed motor mounts. just a thought.

Man being honest with you it could be all of these... is it likely... maybe...maybe not... first off eliminate the easyiest to check first pop the hood and get a buddy to cycle from drive to reverse (on a manuel jus throw it in netural and get hard on the gas and watch for *excessive* movement) and if the engine lurches bad you got a bad motar mount

id say hb bad motor mounts wouldnt cause it to shake that bad, ive had bad motor moints before

Not all mounts break exackly the same..
