I'm looking for a good harmonic balancer for my combo, got rubber pushing out of my current setup. Just curious what you guys recommend.

The ford racing one that is oem like pushed the rubber out after only 3 years. I'd rather have a decent one that I won't have to worry about. It's a h/c/i/n20 and drag radialed car so she sees some hell from time to time.

Fluidampr, I've been eying those liquid balanced ones for a few years. FD is supposed to be one of the best. Has anyone ever noticed any difference when installing one of those? Noticeably less engine vibration?
I also hear that Pioneer and ATI make good HQ balancers. (Do not confuse those brands with the electronic manufactures with the same name ).

I have a summit balancer. It was 80 bux and doesnt have rubber on it.

I was impressed by it. all metal, polished or stainless( I cant tell) hasnt rusted yet, went on super smooth. I havent run the motor yet but out the box fit and finish are far superior to any Dorman or Autozone style balancer I have ever installed.
I've heard good things about fluidamper, that may be the way to go. As a machinist in the good ol USA I try to also support other manufacturing in this country, rather than the crap I have to fix all the time that comes from china.
sorry your first post looked suspiciously like an ad. They have little tolerance for that here. NEver run a fluiddamper myself but I hear they are awesome.a machinist. I was a machinist for 12 years in our manufacturing facility machining dampers before moving to our Fluidampr division. What job experiance i will never forget. Kind of miss it! But i couldnt agree more... keep our jobs here! USA made! Chinese made dampers = crapola!

I ran a FD on a high milage 5.0 years ago.
I had about 175k, and mad vibration between 1100-1600 rpm.
I put the FD on at the same time as H/C/I. engine idles smooth as hell, even with the increased lope of the cam.
that sold me. I have read dozens of negative posts about how they actually increase torsional stresses and all that. My own experience said my engine was smoother, all the way to 6600. I also ran 17lbs of boost through that engine, and never broke a crank.
