AOD question

Hey everyone, I know i am a noob and already asking noob questions, but i am lost....

I'm wondering how to remove the shifter lever thingy that is on the side of an AOD. I tried pulling it straight out of the case, but that sucker isn't budging. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I put a B&M unit in for an after market shifter (for sale by the way) and it was not that bad but you will probably need to lower the tranny some. If memory serves me correct, drop the pan and there is a nut on the inside holding it in, just watch how the linkage is on the valve.

Thanks for the link cody! even though that is exactly the same steps i took, it still doesnt answer the question....

SScott, your post makes very good sense. i tried to pry it a little and that sucker didnt budge. Is it going to be under the valve body or can i access the bolt without having to pull the other stuff?

Like I said, I am running off memory but I don't think you have to drop the VB, just the pan. It will hit on the trans tunnel or at least mine did, so I dropped the cross member and used a jack to lower it. The only reason I am not 100% sure you don't have to drop the VB is cause I did drop mine to put a shift kit in.
